Basic lodging at a good price.Posted Mar 29, 2015
Cons: Could use a facelift. Pretty old decor.
Location: Close to Main Street stores and restaurants. Lake Placid free shuttle available close by too.
Good location with walking distance to Main Street Lake Placid. Woodlake is basic lodging. Clean room, good price. Nothing fancy here so don't expect that. Check-in and check-out were easy.

Great quality for the pricePosted Jun 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
It was very clean and comfortable. No bed bugs (I checked). I stayed there for only one night, I was at Lake Placid to run the Marathon in June 2014. The only negative that I would be able to find is that I asked to keep the room until 2pm to take a shower after the marathon. The check out is at 11am. They refused arguing that they have to clean the room. I understand, but I think they could have offered me to pay a certain amount to keep it for 3 more hours. Beside that minor thing, I recommend the hotel and would go back in the future.

only if your other option is over $700/nightPosted Feb 7, 2011
Paper thin walls, could hear conversations in next room. Hotel was only as wide as the room. You park outside your room and take two steps to the door. In the morning, you hear everyone starting and packing their cars clearly. Only one small garbage can in the bathroom. No hooks on the walls, no hair dryer. No bolt or chain on outside door, only the lock on the handle. Only positive was location.

I would definitely stay here againPosted Mar 3, 2010
Affordable and clean. Advertisement was a bit misleading with respect "walking distance from the Olympic Center." This was the main reason I picked this hotel. I suppose it could be "walking distance" in the summer, but definitely not in the winter which is when we were visiting. Hazarding a very busy road with limited sidewalks, it would have been at least a 20-25 minute walk to the Olympic Center.

I was expecting something a bit more glamorous based on the website photos, but the room was clean and comfortable.
