Perfect location - nice hotel (met our needs)Posted Jul 25, 2012 on Hotels.com
We enjoyed our stay, but it was not a good value - quite expensive, even for Finnish prices, in my opinion. Room was nice, great location (walk to bus, walk to ferry, walk to eat), next to City Center. They are doing construction on the street out front, but it isn't bad and the noise was not a problem. Fantastic buffet breakfast, like all Finnish hotels - wonderful food. Stayed here twice a few days apart, before and after our Saima cruise to St. Petersburg - nice side trip.

Good location, good hotelPosted May 4, 2012
Location: Well located close to all the things that matter.
The hotel is centrally located, near a good range of restaurants and close to the town's highlights.

Not exactly tasteful. But comfortablePosted Jul 8, 2008
While I don't think Scandic hotels are particularly known for their elegance, the interior decor of the Scandic Patria surely establishes new benchmarks in gaudy tastelessness. That said, the service was very friendly and professional, the room was pretty comfortable, the location near the lake is good, breakfast was pretty decent (certainly generous). In the unlikely event that I ever go back to Lappeenranta, I'd stay at the Scandic.
