Met our needs and expectationsPosted Mar 1, 2014
Went to South Lake Tahoe for three days of skiing late February. The Lodge accepts pets (20 Dollars per day), which was a prerequsite for us. Walking distance to Heavenly Village, Gondola, and Restaurants. Quiet neighborhood, close to the Lake and Casinos. Nourishing simple breakfast included. Easy Internet access. Fair price.

Nice hotel between beach and casinosPosted Jan 28, 2014
Nice hotel rooms, totally cozy accommodations except for the fireplace never seemed to earn the room, enough to take the chill off room, but not warm enough for me. :( and shower was all the way on hot and seemed to cool off too. The bed was really nice and the room was cozy other than that

Quick overnight stay for a wedding on the beachPosted Jan 20, 2014
Pros: Clean and Cozy. Great Staff. Close to stateline, the beach and Heavenly's retail center.
Cons: Becuase it's an older building, you do hear over head foot and door noise pretty clearly. Bring some earplugs if that's an issue for you.
Location: Central to the stateline and the casino's, the beach and lake, and the Heavenly Center. Could walk to all if you wanted.
Myself and a friend drove up for the night, along with my teenage daughter, so we could attend a friends wedding the next day at the beach. The lodge is an updated older builing. Very clean and cozy. Love the little woodsy acents and the tile entry in the room and the shower. The gas fireplace to keep the room warm works great and the beds were clean and comfy. Staff was very friendly and helpful and let us have a late checkout. You can tell it's an older building but they have done a nice job updating it and still keeping with Lake Tahoe feel.

Nice little hotelPosted Oct 22, 2013 on Hotels.com
Room was very comfortable. It is heated with a fireplace controlled via the thermostat which worked pretty well, although the bathroom stayed rather cold. The breakfast was very tasty, but limited selection (only yogurt, oatmeal and some bread from a local bakery).

Relaxation and RestPosted Oct 21, 2013
Cons: There is no air-conditioning so staying in the summer could be troubling.
Location: The location is ideal walking distance to the gondola area and casinos.
Came up for the weekend to relax and recharge in beautiful Tahoe. Avalon Lodge was a pleasant place to stay. Our room was well stocked and comfortable with plenty of pillows, bathrobes, huge towels, and a beautiful bathroom/shower. The lodge is walking distance to the gondola area and casinos. Upon arrival at there was free mulled wine while we waited to check in. We missed the breakfast however the staff was more than happy to make us a plate with coffee and coffee cake to take back to the room.
