Good value

This is your basic older style motel. Our stay was comfortable but this certainly isn't an upper class resort. They have an outdoor pool & spa, and an indoor spa. Because it was raining a lot of our stay we didn't use the outdoor spa. The indoor spa was about 100 degrees both times we used it. Not warm enough for us. Rooms are small but functional, and clean. The best two things about this motel is the location and price. I thought it was a great value. Especially after trying to book at other locations.

Pros: location
Cons: towels worn and scratchy
Walking distance to King's Beach, clean, nice continental breakfast, water hose to wash off your feet, center of things

NO AC!!!!!

Lovely place overall, but the room was really stuffy and hard to sleep in a night because there was no air conditioner! Right on the beach was awesome though and they provide lounge chairs in the sand! The breakfast is just cereal and bagels..nothing fancy. Also the toilet seat was broken, but other than that I would stay again.

Love being close to the beach

Pros: Location
Cons: Would love better beds, Flat screen tv
Location: Paddleboaring, walking casinos
Good to have cont breakfast, liked that I had a parking pass (restricts others from using hotel spaces)

This was a great heritage hotel for King's Beach!

Posted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: We found things to do at the hotel even though we experienced thunderstorms and could not play in the water. We did not have to just stay in the room.
Cons: The grounds seemed to be under improvement measures while we were there.
Location: Rite Aid, restaurants, beach, water sport rentals, grocery, everything walk-able!
We loved the location, the cleanliness of the room, the helpfulness of the staff, and the beach! The continental breakfast was simple but well-stocked.

Misleading photos

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Cons: It's a motel. Don't call it a hotel.
The actual room you'll get may be very different from what you can see on its site. The room given to us bears no resemblance to any in the photos. We had to pay extra to "upgrade". Apparently the motel recently purchased a neighboring motel of lower quality and very close to a major road with VERY small rooms and a separate parking lot not connected to Ferrari's. (We were given very curt directions and had to spend several minutes looking for the parking lot before giving up the effort, since it's a different street entrance.) The bedding is definitely sub-par. The "Continental" breakfast is a joke. It's practically all carbs. No pastry, no eggs, no yogurt, and certainly no bacon.

Great location, interior lackluster

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: The patio and fabulous view of the lake and mountains. Has a small in-room frig and there's a Safeway and Rite Aid within walking distance.
Cons: Pillows & bed linens. Wall insulation, reduce external noise.
Location: In center of Kings Beach, so about mid-point between Incline & Tahoe City. A block away from Rte 267, so easy qluick trip over to Truckee and Reno.
It's a classic "old Tahoe" motel. The location, pool, patio and private beach are great! It's fabulous to lounge and enjoy the gorgeous lake and Sierra Range, & you can grill a meal alongside the patio & enjoy it at umbrella tables poolside. It's in the center of the Kings Beach community with lots of great restaurants and trendy boutiques. The room itself is underwhelming, small with tired features, but clean. Walls too thin. Bed is alright, pillows are terrible. Typical of reservations thru online booking services, you get the worst of rooms; in my case upstairs right along side the heavy traffic main street, State Rt 28, so good luck sleeping! No air conditioning, but you can open the window and they provide an electric fan. Parking spaces are very, narrow. The pool and beach access are what make it worth the price.

Hotel on the beach

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: On the beach
Cons: More room in the rooms.
Location: The location was good near a lot of things to do.
The room was small and didn't have enough plugs, but it did serve it's purpose for the price.
