The staff was very nice. The hotel was right across the street from the lake. Nice pool and hot tub. Love the idea of the hotel providing 2 robes to use at the pool or hot tub, while you stay at the hotel.

It was a very slow time and they upgraded our room. It was quiet, clean comfortable an the view of the lake was great.

Long walk to casinos

Posted Apr 5, 2014
Pros: Lake Tahoe was right across the street.
Cons: Older hotel and no restaurants on premises, but restaurant close by.
Location: There were local restaurants and pub near by, as well as bowling alley close by.
We had a lovely view of Lake Tahoe right outside our window (asked for lake view), but the property was quite a way from the casino area and shops. Staff was very courteous.

Convenient location, but a bit dated.

The room was fine. It was nothing spectacular. I don't think it's any different than the cheaper alternatives.

It Looks Nice from the Outside

Posted Mar 30, 2014
Pros: The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly.
Cons: A complete remodel would do it.
Location: It's South Lake Tahoe. I think you can figure it out.
Situated across the highway from Lake Tahoe, the Inn by the Lake looks really nice from the outside as you drive on the property. Once we got inside our room it was another story. Poorly lit, with very old lamps and one light that looked like something out of prison cell, the room was dark and when the heater was turned on the fan within the unit was so loud it forced us to turn the heater off the next day just to avoid the unit's noise. The room also smelled really old, was kind of gross. The carpet was so dark that my wife stepped on something, but didn't know she'd stepped on anything until she checked her socks--again, gross. The room fridge was unusable, and even after calling the front desk to have it checked it still didn't work well, causing all the food we brought home from several restaurants to spoil. The first night we slept in our bed, my wife discovered that the sheets were riddled with stains, mostly yellow ones, which on white sheets is just disgusting. The bathroom sink was tiny, creating a cramped feeling for anyone over 5'8". The front desk staff were wonderful, helping us get extra ice and coffee when we needed it, but beyond that this hotel was a decrepit relic that desperately needs a face lift in the worst way.

Honeymoon Vacation

Posted Mar 20, 2014
Location: There are many great places right near by. McDuff's is where I would suggest eating.
It was a nice stay. They upgraded our stay without us even asking. The hot tub was really nice, the rooms were nice.

great location and property

Posted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: Spacious room
Cons: bathroom update -- but that no different than comparable hotels
Location: Superb location, walk 15 feet to restaurant, walk bowling, walk to lake. easy drive to Kirkwood and much better price.
we loved eating next door, having the jacuzzi and the game room (with no video games = perfect)! very convenient for Heavenly and for Kirkwood

The bed was horrible! Otherwise good place to stay

The room was clean and pretty much has all your needs. The one downfall was the lack of sleep due to the very hard mattress.

Close to beach but that's it...

I asked for a view and got one of a trailer park home and parking lot. Hotel room was fairly clean but staff was unprofessional as they gave each other attitude while checking me in. It could have waited until I left the lobby. Common sense not so common right? Overall not worth the price I paid.
