Would have rather stayed in Reno

Posted Mar 24, 2014
Pros: It was a quick drive to Harveys and Harrrahs.
Cons: More guest accommodation
Location: There is a really nice trail just across from the hotel, dog friendly.
The staff was rude. Took forever to get drinks at the tables. The service at the in casino restaurants was horrible! We told the waiter 3 times that we have vegetarians at the table and that we would like the meat items on separate plates. It took them 3 tries to get it right. It wasn't even busy. Then it took them forever to bring the check, this happened both times. I thought for the price that this place would be worth it. It was cheaper than Harrahs or Harveys but not that much cheaper for what we experienced. Also, the back of the hotel faces a dilapidated neighborhood and there were some shady characters walking around at night. Be careful when walking from the casino to your room! I could have stayed in Reno and drove to Tahoe, I would have still saved money even with the expense of gas.

Very nice hotel

Posted Mar 19, 2014
We booked last min. It was very nice place to stay. Wished there was a microwave inside hotel room. But other than that it was a pleasant visit. We lost our glasses in hotel called maybe 30 min after checkout and they said nothing was found which is weird because when we left staff was cleaning other side of hotel. Really makes me wonder if they checked room or if someone kept them.

Wireless issues

Posted Mar 18, 2014
I was in Tahoe for wedding but has lots of work that required and internet connection. Theirs was not available in the first of two rooms they had me in. The third finally worked, even though it kept kicking me off every 20-30 minutes. If you can unplug because you should while you're on vacation, check this place out. It's an acceptable place to have a dog. None of the local hotels allowed pets, but this one did. That's why I chose it. For the substantiably lower nightly rate, it's fine. If you want fancy, this may not be to your liking.

Great for skiers

Staying here for years. Great value, friendly staff, rooms clean and well-equipped. Great for skiing the Nevada side of Heavenly...at the foot of the Kingsbury Grade.

Hotel close to skiing

Posted Mar 9, 2014
This hotel is the oldest casino in Lake Tahoe. It has a small casino compared to the others. I wasn't there for gambling, but for the skiing. The hotel rooms are clean and have all the usual amenities. The TV is still one of the old style (no flat screen), but everything worked ok. Good value for money for the hotel room. The hotel was outstanding in one aspect and a very important one. One of our party fractured her ankle on the first day of skiing. The hotel provided a wheelchair free of charge during our stay. This made my friend's life a lot easier. Very nice staff and they did everything they could to help with the wheelchair. I've been to the hotel twice before and this is my 3rd visit. I would come again.
