“Great experience”

Everything was excellent. The only area of improvement that I see is thy the Daily tidy service could be a little more thorough.

“Lots of things for kids to do.”

The room was very nice. Though I was only there for a quick trip, it was enjoyable. I didn't use the pool, but it looked fun and inviting.

“Very convenient... Can't wait to go back!”

Marriott Timber Lodge and the Grand Residence are great upscale places to stay in South Lake Tahoe. Our one bedroom mountain view suite was roomy, the bed very comfortable, and we loved the jacuzzi tub in the bedroom. No car, no problem. The Reno-Tahoe airport shuttle drops off at the Embassy Suites next door. Nevada casinos are a short walk. For skiers, the Heavenly gondola is just steps away, and it runs when other base lifts may not. Local buses travel to nearby ski resorts and beautiful Emerald Bay. Recommendations: nearby restaurants- Wolfgang Puck, Driftwood cafe and Kahlani's for sushi. In Tahoe City - the Blue Agave has great Mexican food. Epic ski passes are good investments.

“Very Impressive. The nicest place I have stayed in Tahoe”

We normally don't write reviews, but this hotel was exceptional. We had 7 people and stayed in one of the two room suites. Extremely spacious, well appointed, very nicely furnished. Large King beds were comfortable. The Gym was fantastic - one of the best hotel gyms. Pool is heated year round and has 3 adjacent hot tubs. Staff was great. Location was fantastic - walk 1 block to Harra's or Harvey's. Great shopping and restaruants within walking distance. We did not ski during this trip (off season), but the gondola was right there. The facility is large, so you may have to do some walking to get to your room depending on where it is in the building. I have travelled extensively, and this is defintely in my top 3 locations. Valet parking only, so be prepared for a few extra bucks for that, but well worth it.

“Lovely hotel in a wonderful location.”

The room was lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There was, however, someone lightly hammering for 10 hours straight either right next to or right below our room. It was hard to relax when listening to this tapping from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm.

“Great stay. Loved it, I'm sure you will.”

We stayed for three days and enjoyed every day. The hotel was doing remodeling and some of the rooms were brand new. New everything (appliances, tvs, furniture, paint and carpet). So the room was basically brand new. We got lucky and got one of the new rooms. It was perfect. It was a 1 bedroom villa with fireplace. Basically a 1 bedroom house with kitchen, living room and 1 bathroom. It had everything needed to cook, eat and even had a dishwasher and washer and dryer. All i could say is it was perfect for us two. Even had a sleeper sofa if you had an extra person or 2 ( a little small for 2 people though but if needed it will work). Location was perfect, walking distance to pretty much everything within minutes. Maybe a five minute walk to the casinos and grocery store. There is a valet fee of almost 30 bucks a day, but if you know that going in its not so bad. Would definitely stay again. Would recommend to anyone.

“"Beautiful spot, location, great place for family"”

I was amazed about renovated experience I had in this Marriott. It's just beautiful. Clean, I'd say hi-end class. I'd definitely recommend this one to couples, families, friends..

“Nice stay in perfect location”

We really enjoyed our stay at the Timber Lodge. The room was very clean and incredibly spacious. Even in the smaller guestroom we had (compared to the large villas they offer), we still had a good sized kitchenette with a fridge, toaster and coffee maker so it was really easy to keep some snacks and things for breakfast in the room. The hotel itself feels enormous but beautiful. The pool is very large and there is a lot of seating. Some of the lounge chairs had rips and had fallen into some disrepair, but they were still usable. This is definitely a family hotel so it was crowded with kids of all ages. If you're looking for an upscale getaway for adults, this wouldn't be the place to stay. The location is great and in walking distance to plenty. Its position right at the foot of the Heavenly gondola would make it prime for anyone skiing that mountain. For summer visitors, we were given a beach pass with our reservation for free access to some of the paid beach areas. Parking could get a bit pricey since the hotel does not have a self-park option. We arrived on a Friday and left Sunday and paid for two days. Not terrible but a good chunk of change for someone with a longer stay. We found the staff to be super friendly and helpful. Everyone who worked there was very accommodating and the guests all seemed to be enjoying themselves. A really nice play to get away.
