Nice hotel close to Diamond Peak Ski Resort

Posted Apr 14, 2014
This is the second time my husband and I have stayed here. Our first visit we booked a standard room for one night. When we got there we were informed that we were upgraded to premium for free. Not sure why, but it was a great room in the indoor hallway building. This most recent time we booked a standard room for one night and so we stayed in the outdoor hallway section. Just as nice a room, albeit a little smaller. Though I'm not a fan of the outdoor hallway for safety reasons we would definitely go back next ski season. It is the closest hotel to that specific ski resort and is significantly cheaper than the Hyatt down the street. Clean rooms, nice staff.

Photos were very deceiving.

Pros: Warm Pool.
Cons: The beds, the fridge, a microwave could be added.
The place looked nice online, like a cabin feel. When we arrived our room was not ready, the clerk said check in time wasn't until 4pm. Which felt late to us. When finally getting our room, it was small, outdated, and felt more like a motel. The bed felt like a flat air mattress. Yes it was soft , but it also sank so much that it was very uncomfortable. The room we paid for we thought came with a porch but instead had 2 shared chairs in the hallway. Also we were on the 2nd floor with no elevator access. We booked this room mainly because of the pool and hot tub that was described on Expedia. The faviities were in the basement of the motel, where it was extremely dark and still had 3 or 4 christmas trees, even though its late April. The pool was warm but small. The hot tub was out of commission and if you chose to use the sauna you needed to heat it up yourself 30 minutes before you could use it. The morning breakfast was standard with muffins and juice, there were also signs that stated they "prefer" you didn't take your food to your room. My husband and I weren't impressed with the motel, and would not stay again.

Such a great hotel at a great price.

Pros: Amazing heating and water pressure, and the mattress was amazing. Loved having soap dispensers instead of bar soap, and breakfast was good.
Cons: More dairy-free options for breakfast, the flooring squeaked slightly in our room when walking across.
Location: We stayed in off season, and there's not a lot to do unless your sister is also getting married. Food for lunch was also scarce.
Very homey and welcoming, we loved our stay here! We were in town for my sister's wedding, and while most everyone else stayed at the Hyatt, we stayed at the Parkside Inn and were very happy we did. We were super close to everyone, but we were able to stay in our budget, and we could not have been more pleased with our stay.

We told ourselves never again

If there is snow in THEIR driveway and property, don't expect any help from staff, ask for a shovel and do it yourself; they will not help you. The pool and sauna in the basement is spooky; there is no security, anyone can walk in, and when we got in there all lights were out. We had to feel around for their timer-out lights. My daughter was scared so we didn't use the facilities. The rooms are renovated, except the floor sink in, in part of the new hard wood floors. I'm thinking the structure underneath isn't quite as sound?

Nice hotel with good location

I do not like the bed. It is too soft to have a comfortable sleep. Overall, the hotel is a good choice for anyone who are looking for a budget hotel with good quality.

Nice hotel, close to the slopes

Cons: Only item that we would change was the shampoo/soap dispensers. We prefer bar soap, which we picked up at Raley's.
Perfect location to Diamond Peak, pool was warm and clean. Rooms were comfortable and staff was helpful.

Parkside Inn stay 2/18-2/20-2014

Posted Feb 21, 2014
We stayed for two nights. Its a relatively small inn located near Diamond Peak ski resort. Its proximity to skiing was the key reason we stayed there. We did not use any amenities (e.g pool etc...), but the rooms were clean, good size and everything worked well.
