“family friendly”
enjoyed the facilities and were pleased with the close proximity to everything!
“Offeason Gem”
For our 10 year Wedding Anniversary, the wife and I were looking for a quiet, cozy and romantic place to enjoy without the kids. Boy did we find it! The Staff at SVL were fantastic. From spot on dinner reservations (Christy Hill) to scenic locations besides the usual drive around the lake (, the staff were very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Already planning our next trip (with the kids this time).
“Squaw valley lodge rocks”
Great place, great location
“Squaw Valley Inn Delivers”
We checked in on a Thursday night for the NoCal Tough Mudder event/ordeal. The hotel room was about 10 meters from the start/finish line which of course was perfect. The room was clean and has a mini kitchen with pull out sofa and queen bed. The TV was an old tube TV and low def which definitely needs to be replace. Otherwise no complaints about the room itself. I would suggest avoiding room 144 as it faces the main entrance to the hotel and traffic circle which gets busy during high season or special events. The staff was fantastic. They were informative and always had a smile on their face. The hotel was PACKED Friday and Saturday night with Tough Mudder folks and the restaurants in the village ran out of food items given the crowds. Overall, this was a very nice hotel. Expect to pay bucks in high season given its great location relative to the Squaw Valley USA lifts.
“Nice place to stay.”
The Squaw Valley Lodge is a nice place to stay. It is in a good location and a short drive to Tahoe City & Lake Tahoe. The staff is very nice, the pools and hot tube are nice too. The kitchenette was well stocked with cooking supplies. The only negative is that the walls are paper thin and you can hear the neighbors showering or walking on the floor above. I'd stay there again. Good location and lots to do close by the lodge in the summer (rafting, boating, hiking, biking, fishing).
“Can't wait to go back!!”
Squaw Valley Lodge was very comfortable and easy to access. We were located on the first floor, near parking and the pool. With 2 kids, it was great to be so near the restaurants and shops with the ability to rent bikes, play mini golf or try out the 'high jump' contraption---not to mention the option to take the tram up to High Camp. The lodge itself had many activities to enjoy---tennis, ping pong, a large, lovely/warm pool and 2 very big jacuzzis. Overall, a great time with plenty to do (unlike our previous visits to Resort Squaw Creek where the parking was a hike away, with ZERO restaurants or shopping and NO kitchenette--also, they were twice as much per night). Conversely, Squaw Valley Lodge had an easy, casual feel and was overall a very comfortable place with a helpful and friendly staff. Can't wait to visit again!
“Relaxing, nurturing environment”
Wonderful place to relax, recharge, even while working! The hike up to the mountaintop travels along a large stream of snowmelt, rushing water and waterfalls, and an incredible array of wildflowers along the way.
“Luxurious but no air conditioning in summer”
The hotel is beautiful, room beautifully decorated and is in a lovely setting. We were there in July, so it was quiet. Many businesses in the surrounding area were closed, although restaurants are located within walking distance. There is no air conditioning in the hotel and no screen on the patio door. Fans worked well but opening the door was necessary and there was no screen. There is no restaurant service at the hotel. When we called the front desk to ask if they had a fork, they said no, even though many rooms are equipped with kitchens.
“Adequate Hotel”
The Squaw Valley Lodge was fine. It needs an update, but the overall hotel is nice. I would have expected a little more comfort for what we paid.
“Would never recommend this hotel.”
First of all this hotel does not have world-class amenities as it stated. The beds were horribly uncomfortable. The room was not at all what was expected for the price. The village and shops it speaks of as being within walking distance was a ghost town most stores were not open or were vacant. There were cheerleaders staying at the hotel and they were apparentely having a camp of some sort. So we were woken up every day to cheering. Not exactly a relaxing atmosphere. Overrall it was not the vacation we pictured at all. We were completely disappointed. The whole place seemed like a ghost town until the cheerleading camp arrived, luckily they were staying a building away. I think we were the only people on our floor. The parking lot was mostly empty. We were going to complain when we checked out of the hotel, but then thought what good would that do. Definitely not a place a would recommend. We were going to ask for our money back, but my spouse was embarrased so we just left.
