Unexpected Surprise - Decent, Will Stay Again!Posted Nov 11, 2013
Pros: Location - Price - Comfort - Free WIFI
Cons: Most of these budget motels can be improved - but I liked that the new management was making improvements. Good Value!
Location: Casinos, shopping, movies, ice rink, Starbucks, Ralyes, Jamba Juice, Baja Fresh, Hiking and Golf in walking distance. Basecamp Pizza good Locals Place
This aint the 5 star Marriot right across the street - but it will do. Free wi-fi. I almost did not stay here due to some of the reviews, but was able to do a drive by first and talk to the front desk - Owner seemed nice. I asked to see a room first! - No cigarette or old funky motel smells! - Rooms seem to have been remodeled recently - I asked about some of the bad reviews - She said the motel was under new mngt now and working to be one of the best low cost motels in the area. Rooms decent - Nice Sliding glass shower doors, title floors, good water pressure, granite tops, Rerfig, Micro, Iron and the room was larger than most. A few dings and the carpet is a tad bit tired, but its a ski town. I looked at a few other budget motels close by, I picked this one. Location was better than expected - I did not want to be too close to the traffic. Stateline is just off the main path, but closer than most other motels to shops, restaurants. Quite, Tree Lined streets - A private beach (free access for motel guest). Good parking layout -Well lighted. I saw a camera for security and safety - Try to snag an off season or Sunday-Thursday special.. Also, when you call or come to the office, ask if they are running the "mid town special" - it's not advertised and usually offered randomly through the month. Mine was pretty cool - I won't spoil the surprise, but It was a nice touch. I'll be back.

Mismatch furniture, light bulbs was out on my night stand, pool area drained dirty, no hotub, ghetto shower curtain & run down exterior. Shady cheap motel even motel 6 quality inn are better then this dump!

cheapest on line hotelPosted Aug 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
the mattress foundations were very flimsy, bouncy and so no real support at all. however, the mattress itself also had low density springs which made the night survivable but less than ideal. I would have changed hotels but the hotels near S. Lake Tahoe fill up quickly I am told. the door did not fully, securely close, the shower had open side that would not close so that the floor around toilet was soaked and slippery; there were several areas that need repair: the pool does not work-was empty, there was no breakfast as advertised so I was expecting a 3 star hotel and it was probably 0 star. the manager was nice and helpful however & he made up for it by giving me hot water to cook my instant oatmeal and a bowl and plastic spoon to eat it. the area was nice around it. there was some loud noises at night: loud music and I was awakened several times. the hotel was clean but dated. the walls had been filled cheaply without care for beauty/ esthetics. there was limited parking.

I reserved two rooms, non-smoking, via Hotels.com. Upon arrival was initially informed that it would be one room "suite" w/ door between but only one bath. I said no. They finally arranged for two separate rooms per my paid reservation. Rooms were not cleaned well; bathroom still had old soap papers and highly worn flooring. The place is convenient to stateline, but noisy and poorly maintained.
