nice hotel, close to everything

Posted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: the accessibility to everything.
Cons: The wall is not sound proof, you can hear everything from next door even the whispering.
Location: there is a pharmacy, a church and plenty of restaurants nearby.
The place is very accessible to everything. There is a pharmacy close by, a lot of restaurants, a catholic church where we went for a sunday mass and the beach is just few steps away.

Pros: Location
Cons: Clean the darn thing
Location: right on the lake.
This was the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in. Used dirty soap in the dirty shower. We slept in our cloths because the bedding was so dirty. We got up and left without showering because we didn't want to get near the bathroom. Windows were filthy, pictures were missing the glass, dust everywhere. I called the front desk to report that I didn't think the room had been cleaned and they responded, "Why, just because there was soap in the shower?"

Outdated motel right on Kings Beach

Posted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: Right on the beach
Cons: Needs updated rooms and beds as well as tight parking
Location: Great location right on the beach with easy access; good food nearby (all within 5-10 minute walk)
Traveled to Kings Beach (north Lake Tahoe) for weekend getaway, found this place online: located right on the beach. But rooms very outdated, uncomfortable bed; average price. Plus: right on the beach. Cons: everything else.

The worst place I ever stayed

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Demolish and build a new hotel.
Location: The beach was the only good thing that they advertise as private but it was not private at all.
The room was a health hazard: Microwave has stench of old cheese, food was left over on top too. The fridge was also dirty and smelly. The bed pillows had stains that look like sweat or urine. We found a used feminine towel inside the sink cabinet drawer. The room heater cover was removed. There was no light on the ceiling fan so I used on from a lamp. The hallways were also dirty and worn. I don't understand how Expedia would even show a place like this. I have photos if you want to see them.

Pros: The only good thing about this hotel was that it was next to the beach, and I had to admit the beds were comfortable.
Cons: I think them selling the hotel which is up for sale is a good idea, maybe the new owners would fix it up nicer
Location: We went to Truckee and did the Farmer's Market they have on Thursdays, but they were very expensive also. We did go to some 2nd had stores and had fun
The hotel was HORRIBLE!!! We had to ask for a coffee maker, we could only get clean towels when we took our dirty towels to them... the windows were broke and would not close, they took the light bulbs out of the lights!! There was never any ice in the ice machine. The spa was not working.... We paid good money for this motel and we were very unhappy!!!

Good location, but not much more

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: The woman who checked me in was very nice. The location is great. It's walking distance to beach, parks, restaurants, and stores.
Cons: This hotel is an ideal candidate for a TV makeover show. It needs a thorough cleaning, new windows for safety and security, and privacy upgrades.
Location: Beach, water sports (rental shops for jetski, parasail, paddleboarding, etc.), restaurants, walking, bike riding.
As a first-time Expedia user, I assumed that Expedia screens the hotels listed on its site. My mistake! This place was a huge disappointment--especially at $229 a night. The room was filthy, so I put a dry washcloth in my hand before touching any doorknobs, faucet handles, or light switches. Didn't go near the TV remote. The white shower curtain had a 6-inch strip of orange-pink moldy stuff growing along the bottom. My room was on the lower level, where the windows face the parking lot, so it's a little like staying in a fishbowl.

This motel is older and not luxurious by any means. However, the location alone makes it worthwhile. It is literally right on the sand. It's close to restaurants, volleyball, etc. I would definitely recommend this motel in the summertime.
