“Tahoe Resort NorthStar”
I love this Resort. Please have someone check the Washer and Dryer. Overall we look forward to our next stay!!
“Comfy plus”
September 2006 stay in 1 bedroom condo. Sun-filled condo is full of comfy furniture & amenities (fireplace, big screen TV/DVD/CD/stereo, separate TV/DVD in bedroom, washer/dryer, balcony w/real table & chairs, soaking tub, twin sinks in bath, glass shower, full-sized gourmet appliances, rows of big pillows on comfy bed, etc.). The resort market carries a nice selection and their homemade foodstuffs are delicious and there some of the retail shops are open. The resort staff could not have been nicer or more attentive. They were wonderful. The underground parking will be a plus once the snow comes. There are many well-maintained trails on the property with pleasant scenery. The resort is a few miles up in the mountains from a main road, so there is a feeling of being away from it all - but downtown Truckee and Lake Tahoe are a short drive away. There is construction going on at the resort and it literally was under my balcony & windows. If you are the kind of person who would be driven batty by the noise, you will certainly be driven batty. I sat on the balcony with my paper for hours and didn't notice it much. What with the blue skies, bright sunshine, abundance of trees, & the birds flying by, the last thing I was going to concentrate on was construction noise! The 4 rating for cleanliness was due to the unavoidable construction dust and that alone.
“great location, beautiful lodging”
This property is great for skiers and boarders, just steps to the gondola in the Northstar village. The unit was a very comfortable suite with compact kitchen (microwave, stove, coffeemaker, fridge) which came in very handy for breakfast and lunch. The building (Catamount) has two nice outdoor hot tubs, a nice locker room facility, rec room, and ski lockers downstairs. Parking is in a protected secure underground facility (good during snowy weather). I would definitely stay here again.
“Best Place to Stay”
This hotel is awesome. The room was comfortable and we loved the fully upgraded kitchen with everything in it. The room was so comfortable that my two year old said, I like our new house." The staff was friendly and helpful. The concierge even found us a wonderful babysitter that we plan on using the next time we go back.
“Absolutely Wonderful”
The condo we stayed in was absolutely beautiful and actually looked just like the pictures. Can't wait to go back when the village is complete. I would definitely stay here again.
“WOW!!! VERY IMPRESSED, LOVED IT”
We opened the door and starting laughing because of how nice it was. This comes from someone who doesn't spend alot of money or time in hotel rooms so you may have stayed in nicer, but I haven't. Rooms are just as shown in pictures, maybe even nicer. Very clean. Staff was incredibly helpful! Hotel is a little far away from Lake Tahoe if you anticipate spending alot of time there. Can't wait to go back, would stay there againg in a second!
“Had a Great Time”
As it has been mentioned before the rooms look just like the pictures. The Staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean, and the view from the balcony was spectacular. The only thing missing were restaurants although there was a bar in the compound that served great pizza. We will certainly go back next year. Infact we are already planning our next trip there!
“Highly Recommend”
Great place for a family vacation. Room accommodations were outstanding. Many nice amenities within the facility. Lots of nearby recreation activities. Helpful staff. Highly recommend!
“The only way to go skiing...”
This is the only way to go skiing! Our room was literally steps from the gondola lift. Each room has a ski locker on the first floor. The underground parking was also a plus when loading and unloading. The whole village was also very kid-friendly. Vail really knows how to operate a first-class ski resort.
“Perfect for couples, especially on a babymoon!”
Was a pleasant surprise to be right in Northstar Village, we had thought we might be down the hill a bit. Also the parking was great, just a quick elevator ride, so no lugging bags far. The room was well decorated, with a wide entranceway. Lovely and quiet stay too. Only complaint is that there was no channel menu/guide for the tv, so was a bit of pain flipping through channels to find what was on.
