Nice resort with a beautiful view of the lake. It was nice to be away from town in a bit quieter setting. The initial drive seemed harrowing with all the switchbacks, but we got used to it quickly. We enjoyed the rooftop hot tubs daily. The food at the market daily was good. I would stay again if in South Tahoe.

condo

Posted Jun 21, 2015
Cons: More on site food options, very limited.
Location: Seems like more things available during winter than summer
It was ok, but wasn't prepared for condo with full kitchen. We would have stopped and got groceries. Hot tub was not open. Two pools on site, but only one available to us.

Great location for a summer wedding!

Posted Jun 17, 2015
Pros: The view!
Cons: More housekeeping staff members!
Location: Van Sickle Bi-State hiking trail was a perfect trail for our entire family...young and old! Incredible views at the top!
I realize the rooms aren't guaranteed to be ready until 4:00 pm, but when you host weddings on sight, you can't expect guests who have traveled from great distances to not have a room at least an hour before the wedding. We had to wait right up until 4:00 to check into our room and meet our family at 4:30 for the wedding. The staff was extremely unsympathetic to our situation and seemed to be very understaffed in the housekeeping department.

Mountain top time share type resort

Posted Jun 2, 2015
Pros: Location, staff, bed, shuttle service, rooftop hot tubs
Cons: Stronger in-room A/C (either through wall or window type) instead of free-standing humidifier type, free wifi access, windows don't open far enough
Location: Close to Stateline and South Lake Tahoe beaches, casinos, restaurants, ski lifts - everything on the south shore
My wife and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary at the Ridge Resort last weekend. The location is great, situated on a ridge between the Tahoe and Carson Valleys. Both are visible from the resort, depending on which building and what floor you're on. The rooms are nice and clean. The resort is a bit dated and could use some upgrades - no central A/C, for example. The staff was very helpful, courteous, and attentive. As is typical for most hotels/resorts, prices on food and beverages are quite high. Also, a number of conveniences (like wifi) are only available at an additional cost. The rooms feature Sleep Number beds, kitchenettes, and deep shower tubs.

No guest communication

Posted Jun 1, 2015
Pros: Room was clean; bathrooms were nice, with a very nice shower.
Cons: Better communication about conditions ahead of booking.
Booked the room without any mention on the resorts website that their restaurant was closed for renovations. Also was unaware that the rooms did not have air conditioning & the windows did not open wide enough to make up for this this. Also we had the problems the first night around 10 pm about getting the DVD player to work. When I tried calling the front desk, I only got a recording saying they were helping other guests. After waiting a few minutes I finally gave up. When I voiced my concerns the next day at the front desk, they did give us a $20 credit towards breakfast at the lobby cafe. But I kind of got the impression that they didn't feel these issues were important enough to be told about at booking (or even at check-in, for that matter).

Friendly Staff, Beautiful Rooms.

Posted May 22, 2015
This is a beautiful hotel with a great view of the mountains because of the high altitude. There's a shuttle that takes you back and forth from the hotel to casinos, which is convenient because it was snowing when we arrived and were afraid to drive. The rooms are beautiful, however our suite had some pistachio shells under the bed that had been missed by housekeeping and my mother's suite had a dirty blanket that needed to be replaced when they arrived. Early check-in was a huge plus, and the entire staff was friendly. There wasn't a single bad experience with the hotel workers and they seemed all happy to help the guests. I highly recommend this hotel. However, if you have problems breathing or have altitude sickness in your medical history, seek advice from a doctor before you go. The altitude was a bit difficult at times. :)

Nothing better in Tahoe

Posted May 20, 2015
This is our fifth visit to Tahoe staying with the Ridge group of hotels. They are all supremely located in Stateline and pretty much ON Heavenly. There is no better place this close to the snow with the facilities that this hotel can offer. Always amazing and totally addictive. The outdoor jacuzzi's are to die for :)
