Everything was just perfectPosted May 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gail & Rob's luxury B&B. We are well travelled and Kauri Point is easily one of the nicest places we have stayed at. Everything was impeccable: breakfast generous and delicious, Gail, Rob and their pets are wonderful company, and the mountain view is just amazing. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Taupo.

lovely venue, but...Posted Aug 26, 2012 on Hotels.com
awesome rural spot and gr8 value for $. great service n staff, but aircon machine noisy outside window and dogs outside woke us before 7 am + walls between units paper thin and other unit's bathroom backed onto our bedroom. the only spa pool is outside the owner's lounge window. no electric blankets. no kettle or cups in room, but in common area.

Absolutely fabulous. Gail and Rob welcomed us into their home and we felt like long lost friends. Despite the rain and cold we loved our visit to Taupo because of our stay here. They offer much more than a place to sleep, they offer the best of hospitality. Thank for the wonderful memories.

The Perfect Private HideawayPosted Dec 12, 2011
This is a quality luxury homestay within the most stunning and picturesque location. If you want a peaceful and quiet location, with beautiful rooms and quality chattels, with thoughtful hosts that have already catered for your every need, with breathtaking views within a beautiful large and natural woodland garden then this is the perfect getaway for you. This homestay is a gem and I will definately be back for a relaxing and lazy stay reading on the large deck, soaking in the massage spa pool, watching movies or enjoying a relaxing BBQ or a wine. I can't rave enough about this homestay, it is everything I wanted and more than I ever expected.

Kauri Point, Lake Taupo DelightPosted Oct 7, 2011 on Hotels.com
Kauri Point is described as a "Home Away From Home" as distinct from "B&B" and the difference is obvious. Guests are greeted by Gail or Rob and a morning or afternoon tea. There are three beauifully appointed rooms with superb bed linen and personalised artworks and gorgeous bathrooms, complete with robes. We stayed for two nights and felt like one of the rellies! We had the run of the place and enjoyed wandering through the garden burtsing with Spring,a soak in the hot tub, drinks and nibbles with Rob, Gail and friends before popping into town for lakeside meal and returning for a glass of complimentary port before diving into the blis of the huge bed. We woke to the sound of birdsong and a view to the mountainshrouded in mist. We were offered a cooked breakfast but chose instead the homemade muesli, toast, tea and coffee while being guided to the best recommendations for two das exploring the Lake Taupo area which is full of vairety and something for everyone, we suspect. Despite being asked "Have we got everything?", we managed to leave a coat behind and Gail made contact immediately and has sent the coat to our home in Oz. Cheers for that! We would highly recommend this homestay to anyone who appreciates quality appointments in a very beautiful, personalised and relaxed setting a few minutes out of town in a garden setting.

PerfectPosted Feb 28, 2011 on Hotels.com
The house is really nice, the room was large and very comfortable, very clean, the bathroom perfect. Breakfast was delicious and the hosts very friendly. It's a little off tracks but it only takes 10 mn to drive to Taupo, so no big deal. I really had a beautiful stay.
