“5 star hotel for 3 star money!”

look at the pictures! this is exactly how it is! the rooms, resturants, and staff are second to none. in all the years i have been travelling this is as good as i have seen for the money. other reviews have commented on its locataion, all i can say is check a map before you book, if you want to be in milan stay there!

“Lovely hotel and great food”

The breakfast was a buffet and very good, although you'd better like eating cake or ham/cheese. The dinner we had was very nice but pricey by italian standards. We tried to use the sauna and spa pool but these were not heated up. I expect if we had requested help they would have sprted this out. We had a lovely turkish bath/steam room though. Room was pretty and clean. Parking was free but a bit of a palava to get out due to the gates.

“Pretty villa”

The hotel is very pretty, but as is often true with italian hotels, it is more pretty than functional. The room was nice, but nothing special. The bathroom was pretty, but there was no tub and the water in the shower did not drain properly. Tea was not provided and coffee was only provided for a fee. There was no safe in the room. Otherwise, the views from the room were very nice. The parking at the hotel garage was free and the hotel location was good - 1/2 hour - 45 minute drive from Milan and Lugano.

“Would definitely return”

A quite luxurious hotel for the price in a village with not much going on, but an ideal base for exploring the southern lakes region. Rooms of a good size and well equipped but problems with the showers. Hotel in beautiful grounds and with good views from rooms. Huge amounts of parking for a smallish hotel. Happy to provide interconnecting rooms for teenagers.

“Boscolo Varese”

The hotel buildings and the general atmosphere when you arrive is fantastic. Unfortunately, this is completely ruined by the service, food and the ambience created by the staff. Dinner on the first evening was appalling and very expensive. We only had 2 course which took 2 and a half hours to arrive with us waiting 25 minutes for vegetables after the main course had already arrived so, overall, the meal was spoilt. Add to this that, at dinner on the evening, the atmosphere created by the setting was ruined by the "disco hits of the 70s" that they insisted on playing despite us asking for it to be turned off - really bizarre!! At breakfast it was Alanis Morrisette screaming her lungs out with one song even containing a number of "F" words. In addition to that, my partner is pregnant and needs a special cushion to help her sleep. Unfortunately, one of the staff took it from her room and, despite frequent requests and explanations that it was difficult for her to sleep without it, no-one was interested in trying to find it or a replacement and neither were they concerned that she was unable to sleep without it. Very very poor.

This hotel hasn't 4 star service and infrastructure!
