See all #### TripAdvisor ReviewsLocanda Dei Mai was originally a XV Century medieval settlement with a square - post office - chemists shop and grain storehouse - This was transformed into a country estate by the chemist himself and today his descendants have converted this estate into a delightful luxury 4-star hotel. The hotel retains its original charm with features such as the tower - courtyard with well and veranda. A backgammon set is available for guests who wish to play a game or two. On one side of the room large windows look out onto a lush garden and on the other the view is of the courtyard. The front garden offers a stunning view of the Locanda with its trees and tall elegant palms illuminated by fairytale lighting. You can smell the perfume of the flowers and the mandarin cedar and lemon trees in their large terracotta vases wafting through the. The intimate bar with wood paneling used to be the old post office. The breakfast room - once the stable - offers a refined country atmosphere with one wall in stone offset by another in pink plaster - Here guests can enjoy a full breakfast which includes home-made pastries and jams. The tasteful lounge is furnished with XIX century sofas and armchairs and graced by portraits of the great grandparents. The focal point is the piano - often used for jazz evenings. The main dining room - once the chemists shop - serves delicious regional and international dishes - On two walls there is a large classical-style frieze with trompe l oeil columns and caryatids which came to light during renovation work. The room is dominated by an imposing XVI century fireplace at the far end. There is a private room for two which guests are invited to pre-book.
