“Vomit”

I picked this hotel on the basis that it was decently priced and a large provider. The customer service sucked, the people were not friendly and I felt as if I was bothering them. When I went to my room there was a large gross stain on both the couch and chair which I did not dare to sit on. Prior to going to sleep I decided to go for a swim. Ahead of me in the pool area was the clerk who was smoking (no bid deal). However the smell that surrounded the patio was of rotting trash that was so strong I could smell it from the other end of the pool. The patio was also littered with trash. The clerk did not apologize for the condition of the area although it was obvious and I left the area. Not only will I never stay at this location again but I will also stay away from other Days Inn Hotels.

“good choice in lakeland”

this is a very comfortable, clean hotel. location is convenient to both the interstate, restaurants, Starbucks and Lakeland. nice breakfast room and small, but clean pool.

Yes, we are located very conveniently right at the exit #33 on I-4 (right in between Orlando & Tampa). We have 24 hrs Seven Eleven & Starbucks across the street, and other big name restaurants all around us. We are very close to Detroit Tiger's Stadium, Lakeland Regional Hospital, Watson Clinic, Moffitt Cancer Center, Lakeland Regional Cancer Center, Lakeland Center and Lake Myrtle Sport Complex.

“Nice staff, some improvement opportunities”

Water pressure in shower was poor. Lots of noise in hallway at night from teenagers congregating near a vending machine. Our room was the first one by the registration desk (101, I think) and no effort of staff to quiet the noise until we requested. Got lots of help from staff in getting boarding pass for flight. It was all I could do to keep from totally reorganizing the breakfast layout. Ex: toaster on one side of the room and butter on the other. Lots of people (including me) asking questions about where things were.

“Everything I needed”

This hotel gave excellent value for the price. Everything I needed for a 4 day golf outing.

Golf at Bridgewater Golf Course is also a good value.

“Watch your head”

It was a nice hotel but........ our first night a picture fell off the wall about 5am and if my husband hadn't been in the bathroom it would have hit him in the head. Told the staff that morning what happened and got a I'm sorry and they said they would inform the manager that was about it. We stayed there 6 nights, as we were checking out we asked to speak to the manager, he claimed he knew nothing about it. We felt he was being less than truthful. Also our room was next to what was supposed to be the emergency exit , but people started going out that door every morning about 6am and it was very loud when it shut.

Area recommendations

Lakeland was a very beautiful city. Most people were friendly. All areas we went to were nice.

“Perfect location for Spring Training with the Detroit Tigers”

Very nice hotel for the money- nice continental breakfast. Very clean. My only complaint was the pool- they did not have the filter on and so the top of the water had bugs and fuzzies- we did ask twice about it and they said 'the pool guy is coming'- but we never saw him. Consequently we only went in to cool down after brushing away the floating things- no one actually swam in the pool or actually enjoyed it- we were there for 6 days and it was always the same- water was clear- just lots of bugs and needed to be vaccumed a little-folks laid out at the pool but it was not the center of attention as many pools in florida are- not a reason not to use the hotel but just a heads up. Otherwise it was a great place for our purpose and we would go back- hoping I guess that the pool situation would be better.

“Lakeland Days Inn”

Good value for the money. Conveniently located off I-4, easy travel to local attractions and a grocery store. The rooms have a fridge and microwave, which is a nice feature if you want keep your own food on hand. As of March 2011 they've not yet upgraded to HDTVs but I'm guessing that's forthcoming. The fitness room could use some attention.

Area recommendations

Downtown Lakeland because it's one of the few areas where you can get a meal that is not from a chain restaurant. The Florida Southern College campus is also a treat as it's full of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, which is on Lake Hollingsworth. Also the area surrouding Lake Hollingsworth is lovely. Perfect for a walk. Worth the trip.
