“TIMELESS ELEGANCE”
Looks like they did a fine reno of an old gem... high ceilings, big suites looking out over a park and lake, plus a grand dining room that's home to the second finest restaurant in Lakeland Florida... Caring hotel staff and a close walk to stores. All round good value for the money... especially the fine suite we stayed in... reminds me of a NYC suite from the 1940's that's all buffed up.
“A jewel of a hotel”
The Lakeland Terrace Hotel is one of those lovely surprises for travelers who want a luxury hotel for a reasonable price. The terrace overlooking Lake Mirror is breathtaking, and my next plan is to reserve one of the suites over looking the lake!! The restaurant is first rate - a little pricey but you get good portions and the service is excellent. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful. There are a few maintenance issues - some stains on carpets, cracked linen hamper in the lobby bath - but these are minor compared to the overall quality of the hotel. My only real complaint is that the complimentary breakfast included in the room rate is pretty chintzy - dry pastries, no plates or silver wear (not even paper & plastic) whole apples & oranges, and the worst coffee I ever tried to drink in my life. I know they want you to spend money in the hotel but for those of us who have already spent money in the lounge & restaurant, or on a suite or more than one room, the complimentary breakfast was more of an insult. But that will not keep me from returning! It is a lovely hotel in a grand little town.
“Nice hotel and an adorable little town!”
We were very pleased with this hotel, it was located directly across from the lake and gardens that the wedding we were attending was taking place. The staff was very helpful with directions and the room was clean and had nice comforts such as robes, coffee, and hot tea! The surrounding area was very nice as well, little shops, restaurants and bars as well as a Farmers Market the day we arrived. Would definitely stay here again. Pleasantly surprised!
“confirm your room type”
We booked a suite and they tried to give us a standard double on arrival. Once we got the hotel manager involved, he made it right. Nice restaurant. Lots of great restaurants and bars right next door.
“A Pleasant Suprise”
I got a pretty good deal on my rate on line. So I wasn't prepared for the level of service and amenities that awaited me, from the valet who parked my car and took my luggage to my room, or the great housekeeping staff. Although I didn't eat in the restaurant, I did at least have a beer in the small bar area served by a very professional and competant young lady. I was also impressed with the appearance of the dining room. For the evening meal a coat and tie might not be inappropriate. Fortunately there are are other eateries within walking distance that will allow you a choice of atmosphere, and where I felt more comfortable in my decidedly informal attire. Actually, I came for three Tiger Games, and Marchant Stadium was an easy drive just down the street. One small complaint that I'm certain you are already aware of was the lack of an ice machine on the eighth floor. In my case it was not much of a hardship as my room was right across from the elevator which made for a quick trip to the seventh floor and back. Thanks for a pleasant stay, and I hope to return next year.
“Best place in a small town...”
Classy hotel, close to downtown nightlife and easy driving distance to the suburbs. Great service.
“Not Impressed”
It was difficult to find the parking lot, you need to drive through valet area and parking lot to get to free parking. Not a very friendly lobby...either walk through valet area or through restaurant to get to the registration desk. Felt awkward every time we left through the restaurant to walk to town. Room was small and questionable if it was fully cleaned. toilet paper in toilet, soap in bathtub, light bulbs out in bathroom, necklace found in closet. broken luggage rack. I did ask for light bulbs replaced but never were. Beds were nice so we didn't complain about the other problems. Probable great for business travel although missed having a local computer to access, but would not recommend for families.
“You cannot beat the Terrace Hotel's location”
We very happy with the Terrace. We stayed there 4 days. It's a vintage hotel that matches the cusp of the surrounding neighborhood. The Terrace is to Lakeland what the Waldorf in to New York. Just remember you're in Lakeland, not New York. Many excellent restaurants, bars, and shops are walking distance from the hotel. Although the Terrance doesn't have the new breakfast buffets of the chains, a short walk will take you to anything you would want. The Hotel restaurant was inviting but pricey. We never ate there because so much was offered only steps outside the hotel. Minor issues akin to an older hotel, stiff closit doors, minimal space, etc.. were eviident but not worth calling the front desk. You get a refridgerator, iron, and coffee pot. no microwave---no big deal. The Terrace is on my list for another trip. Expedia makes the rates well worth it.
“What a nice surprise when we were just thinking of visiting F.Lloyd Wright's buildings !”
From the moment when we arrived in the parking lot thru the warm farewell (by an ex-Canadian) we were enchanted by this beautiful hotel. The hotel dining room was a VERY pleasant experience also as far as the food and the service was concerned. The location is also so extra ! We would go back anytime.
