Clean but rude

Posted Jul 8, 2013
Pros: quite clean and comfortable.
Cons: A seminar in hospitality
Location: close to downtown Lakeview
Since I was there for my daughters wedding I needed to arrive a little early. I was scolded by a very rude desk person. I travel on a regular basis and have not encountered this behavior at other facilities. Very disappointed. Television controls did not work and 1 of 2 key cards did not work.

Best in Lakeview

A converted convalescent home (!), the rooms are large and very clean. Excellent internet service. Breakfast is included, but not inspiring.

Will not go back!

First room had feces in toilet bowl...means toilet not cleaned...YUCK!requested to be moved because of this. Second room had spiders on floor. Bedding appeared to have been washed, but didn't trust that it had been. Doors slamming early in the morning. We had a terrible nights sleep. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MOTEL TO ANYONE!!!!

Ok for the area

The hotel is really only one of two hotels in the area, which limits competition. I'm not sure how the Best Western is, so I can't say it's any better. Upon arrival we were greeted by the staff sitting on a couch in the lobby staring at us as we walked in. They only got up to greet us when I approached the counter and one of them said "yes?" and after explaining I needed to check in she helped me but acted as if it were a significant inconvenience. The room was acceptable though clearly a one or two star hotel room and nothing better. At checkout, we were greeted with the same rude service, with not even a thank you for staying with us or even a word uttered other than "here" upon passing me my receipt. If you're looking for service, don't stay here. If you're looking for a place to sleep and you don't care about service, this is your hotel.
