This place is top notch.Posted Apr 28, 2015
Small hotel run by a couple who have obviously put a lot of sweat equity into their enterprise. Only drawback is that hotel is in interior of the lower part of Monemvasia, and cars are not allowed. It's therefore a bit of a hike from the one entrance to the town, up and down stairs. So, if you take your own luggage, pack light. Alex, one the the proprietors - he's part mountain goat - will help you schlep your stuff. That said, this place is wonderful. Rooms are well appointed, there's a beautiful garden and Alex and his wife (whose name I regrettably didn't catch) are as friendy and attentive as can be. A copious breakfast is served - on the terrace overlooking the ocean if you like - and there is a well-stocked bar. We came in the shoulder season (April) and the the price was exceedingly attractive. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat. Kudos to Alex and Mrs. Alex.

Lovely hotelPosted Apr 20, 2015
Charming hotel in Monemvasia. Excellent breakfast served on the tetrace overlooking the sea. We were given a complimentary half bottle of wine which was excellent. We enjoyed it and were given a second half bottle with a large number of nibbles for which we weren't charged. Wonderful hospitality.

A lovely stayPosted Nov 17, 2014
Pros: The location. Breakfast and obviously the staff.
Location: Look around the town but wear very comfortable shoes. Lots of cobbles and stairs. The upper town is closed for renovation, unfortunately.
A hike to get to the hotel especially in the dark but everyone really helpful. Beautiful apartment not just a room. Nice sea views. Comfortable bed. Excellent homemade breakfast with owner present, friendly and attentive. Would go again.

Great hotelPosted Oct 23, 2014 on Hotels.com
Wow, this hotel and the Castle of Monemvasia was one of our favorite places in Greece. The hotel was excellent, clean and the view from our porch was outstanding. The staff was helpful and added extra touches, like a welcome drink and snacks.

lovely hotelPosted Aug 4, 2014 on Hotels.com
This is a lovely hotel situated in the castle area of Monemvasia and although it looks old it was actually built recently in historic style to a very high standard. The hotel is built onto some of the remaining vaults and structures of the castle. Everything else is new but the old and new are so well matched it's hard to tell what's old. Only criticism and this is slight - the directions are not clear. It's at the end of the town as you approach through the gates and there are what appears to be confusing signs directing you to 2 possible entrances. We eventually found the right one. Our room was lovely with views in 3 directions and the staff were friendly and attentive. Tips on where to park the car could be clearer too. You need to find a space as near to the gate as possible then walk. Be prepared for a 10 min walk to the hotel up and own steep steps.

The best hotel we stayed in in Greece.Posted Apr 25, 2014
The proprietor was wonderfully hospitable, going out of her way to make us welcome. Our room was clean and well appointed. Likewise the public rooms. The hotel climbs the hillside in this iconic walled city in harmoneous proportion to the surroundings. Our room had a patio with great views. Our best accommodation in Greece outside of Athens.
