Great BreakPosted Aug 4, 2013
Cheap and cheerful. If you're looking for a basic fale on the beach and a nice relaxing holiday you've come to the right place. Not much to do nearby although the ocean trench is a must! Don't expect to many creature comforts though, showers are a tad chilly. Fantastic for the price though and the views are incredible.

My sister and I stayed in the mountain view fale at Taufua and were very disappointed. Firstly the location was a joke. Please note that if you were to stay in the BEACH fales the location would be perfect - right on the beach. However the mountain view accommodation was about a 10 minute drive away from the beach. There was a complimentary taxi to the mountain fales, however it did not allow for easy access between our room and the beach. For the price we paid we were shocked there was no hot water, our sheets absolutely stunk and we had to get them changed... but due to the isolated location of the mountain view fales we had to sleep a night in these smelly sheets because we had no way to contact anybody about the problem as the taxi had already returned to the beach where the reception was also located. Our room was not cleaned properly with rubbish from the previous guests left in our room and towels were not provided - when we inquired about towels the following day we were told that we should have been provided with them, however they were still unable to give us any as they were apparently all wet!! The food was mediocre and at lunch time the service was horrific (an hour wait on burger and fries). This is the first time I have ever written a negative review of any accommodation I have stayed in as I am fairly easy going and laid back, however after our stay here my sister and I both agreed anybody would be foolish to book the mountain view fales.

Fantastic!Posted Jun 21, 2013
Cons: They didn't clean the sand out during the day and the local dogs drank our foot water
Location: Great being on the beach but not near any ATMS - thankfully they take credit cards!
Everything here was great! The food for all meals was delicious and just kept being served. Yum! Right on the beach so out the door and into the water

3 Night at Taufua, GREAT beach! Nice instance, very nice food on touch with Samoan culture! Just to report the status of shared bathroom, objectively to be improved....

Excellent Rustic Beach VacationPosted Jun 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
Pros: - The staff was incredible. They were friendly, hospitable, knowledgeable, and everyone knew my name on the first day. - Location. The beach was gorgeous and the fales are a few steps away from the water. - Food. The breakfast and dinner was served family style around a big table - a very fun, social experience. Food was quite tasty; our fish was caught just hours before, right off the reef! Cons: - Lalomanu is on the other side of the island from the airport so it takes 2 hours to get there (which can be expensive). On the other hand, the beaches were much nicer in Lalomanu so the drive was totally worth it! - The showers/restrooms weren't the cleanest; there was sand everywhere. Then again, we were right on the beach so I can't really complain. Overall: this is a great place to stay if you want a nontraditional beach vacation with friendly staff, good food, and an excellent fale experience!

Perfect place to relax and snorkelPosted May 13, 2013
Pros: great beach!
Location: it's far away from Apia and the airport, but it's totally worth it. You can take buses or taxis to get there.
Matresses could be a little more comfortable. there could be rubbish bins in the beach (nothing fancy, just empty recycled containers). They could buy paddles for the kayaks. The food they serve is mostly carbs, but nice. it would be nice to have a variety of fresh fruit for breakfast and dinner, and even nicer if they could leave fresh fruit for guests the whole day. The beach is beautifull and the fales (huts) are right next to the ocean. Bathrooms are clean enough and pretty close from the fales. The staff is very friendly and helpful, but it would be nice if they could do "a little bit more", do something else for their guests. It's 15 minutes away driving distance from Namu'a (a nice island to snorkle and spend one day) and 15 minutes away from the Ocean Trench. It's the perfect place to relax and snorkel (the reef is growing). Not the right place if you are looking for a place where you can party and go crazy or if you like the luxuries and comfort of a 4 or 5 stars hotel.

fun in the sunPosted Dec 3, 2012
Pros: gorgeous beach and great staff and great food
Cons: no fan in our fale
Location: white sands, clear waters, tropical fish, relaxing heaven
lovely time for our honeymoon, the spot there is just fantastic, crystal clear waters on your doorstep. The staff were great, friendly and accomodating. Having a fan in our room would have made the stay just that bit more comfortable to sleep during the nights but otherwise a great place to stay and would go back again any time.

TauFua is the perfect get away if you're looking for simple living. The laid back atmosphere and wonderful staff is truly a wonderful experience at the most beautiful beach in Samoa.
