Great Hotel near Douro ValleyPosted Sep 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
We stayed at this hotel for about a week and used it as a base for trips to the Douro Valley, Porto and other parts of Northern Portugal.(Driving to Porto takes about 1 h 45 min from here) The hotel is placed in a residential area of Lamego about a 20 min. walk from the city centre. We felt very welcome when we arrived at the hotel late at night. The staff is quite nice, however apart from those working in the reception not many people speak English. The room we got was nice and clean and we were lucky to get a room with a view towards the surrounding wineyards. Only problem was that the WiFi was not working in the room in this part of the hotel, when we stayed there, so we had to go out in the corridor to use it. If you go there by car you can park for free in the basement. The pool area is very nice with view to the nearby mountains - it is also possible do lots of other activities at the hotel. Breakfast at the hotel is quite good. We also tried the restaurant one evening and contrary to what other people have written here, the food was very delicious and the wine good. The service in both the restaurant and the pool bar can be a bit slow and seem somewhat unprofessional but we will definately recommend the restaurant. It is a hotel that we would definately use again if we should come back to Northern Portugal another time.

Location poor misrepresented by your staffPosted Sep 12, 2014
Pros: The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful, clean, we felt safe
Cons: Not necessary
Location: Not suitable for tourists without a car,
I was told it was 15 mins walk to the River Rio Doura, your staff misrepresented that, it was 20 mins in a taxi, no buses, it was not suitable for tourists without a car, there were no tours available. The tourist information had no available tours, we needed to go by taxi. We would not book via your company again

Hotel muito bomPosted May 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
atendeu bem às expectativas; atendimento no restaurante foi personalizado e bastante bom. Próximo às paisagens do vale do Rio Douro e de Peso da Régua.

Good comfortable hotel with good food and poolPosted Oct 5, 2012
Pros: Pool and food
Cons: Nothing really if you are happy to walk 15 minutes in to town.
Location: On the outskirts of Lamego but pleasant area.
Good hotel with helpful staff and comfortable rooms. Excellent pool. Very good food in the restaurant, which was well used. The hotel is situated on the edge of Lamego, however there is a reasonable 15 minute walk downhill to the main part of town. There is good free parking at the hotel and plenty of parking in Lamego itself, which has some reasonable restaurants in the Cathedral area.

Good for the Douro Valley.Posted Sep 3, 2011
Nice hotel with pleasant staff. Good location for driving around the Douro Valley. A bit tucked away in a residential area and through what appears to be a supermarket car park but is a road leading to the hotel nearby.

UbicaciónPosted Apr 25, 2011 on Hotels.com
Por lo que vimos en Internet pensábamos que el hotel fuese más céntrico ( para no tener que coger el coche para cualquier desplacamiento ). Y quizás habría que poner una indicación " Hotel Lamego " en la cara del hotel que da a la carretera.
