No bilingual menu or signage

Great accommodation - friendly owner- just the lack of the Welsh language when his daughter and most staff speak Welsh was a major down point- also his restaurant trade is affected by the failure to adjust to the area's first language . Cannot fault the staff or room as good as you will get in Wales from a country house hotel .

A hidden gem!

Posted Jul 4, 2014 on Hotels.com
We celebrated our wedding anniversary here, stayed one night. Beautiful room with a very spacious bathroom, lovely walk-in shower. Food from heaven; lots of attention to detail such as homemade bread and a 'happy anniversary' greeting written in chocolate on our pudding plate. Service was excellent throughout our stay. We'd love to visit again soon.

Beautiful country house hotel in remote Wales

Posted Nov 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is the second time I've stayed at Ty Mawr Mansion, and again, it does NOT disappoint! You are in rather remote Wales so mobile phone signal is spotty, but the place and the rooms are just gorgeous. Their chef dreamt up the most wonderful meals especially catered to my diet: vegan and gluten-free. HIGHLY recommended.

Amazing

From the time we arrived ...to have our bags carried in for us to the evening meal .....(it was both of our birthdays that month and the desert arrived with chocolate sauce message of birthday wishes and candles!) ....the attention to detail was outstanding. All of the staff were attentive to our requirements in a totally spotlessly clean beautiful mansion. Martin and Catherine have got everything just right....our request for a cheese board and wine whilst we watched a movie in the cinema was met within a blink of an eye. We will share our experience with everyone as we have never found a place to stay where it ticks all the boxes before we found Ty Mawr.

Absolutely Fabulous

Posted Aug 28, 2012
Pros: The atmosphere - opulent, indulgent, but not stuffy.
Cons: The only thing I disliked was having to leave.
Location: Wonderfully tranquil rural location.
Beautiful mansion and grounds; pleasant and helpful staff; very comfortable and spacious bedroom; wonderful food and wine; totally relaxing and enjoyable. Anyone who has the opportunity to spend time here should book without a moment's hesitation. It's absolutely fabulous.

Quiet, quality cuisine in a quintessential country

Posted Feb 21, 2012
Pros: Quiet and food
Cons: I only had two nights
Location: Hidden in the quiet depths of Wales yet close to Aberaeron and Aberystwyth plus the coast.
The first thing you notice is the quiet. Extreme quiet. Add to that superb cuisine with an excellent wine list in an old country house setting and you have the mix for a perfect weekend.
