A Good Place to Stay
Posted Jan 13, 2013
My wife and I stayed here for just one night and were pleased to have done so. The facilities were fine and the staff helpful and attentive. We particularly liked that free wifi was provided. We would definitely stay here again. The hotel was quiet without intrusive traffic noise which can often spoil a nights sleep.

Refreshing alternative to antiseptic chain-hotels
Posted Jan 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
Very impressed with the honesty of this hotel. Felt like a well kept family hotel only bigger. We arrived late in the evening due a closure of the nearby motorway (M6) but the Receptionist still arranged food of our choice and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was extra but high quality - probably the nuttiest museli I have every experienced in a hotel buffet. As a seasoned business traveller when I am paying my own money to stop in a hotel I can be critical but I have to say there was nothing to fault here. Will return.

Great Short Break Hotel
Posted Jan 25, 2012 on Hotels.com
We had a lovely stay at this hotel, which provides a cosy, friendly setting, comfortable rooms and excellent customer service. The pool, sauna and small gym are perfect for hotel guests, and the supply of clean towels, lockers and immaculately clean facilities is excellent and convenient to use. The bar and restaurant is very welcoming and comfortable, and the other public areas are decorated to a very high standard with comforatable seating, and reasonably priced food and drinks. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the beds comfortable and the bathroom well appointed. The added touch of a free coffee for two if you visit the garden centre owned by the hotel is a nice touch, and the garden centre itself is well worth a visit, with a fantastic cafe, and beautiful christmas displays as well as being in a lovely riverside location. The hotel do offers which would be of interest to returning visitors and I would definitley recommend this as a good place to stay. There is a marina nearby also owned by the hotel, and boat trips on the canal, a good selection of pubs and restaurants, a couple of good furniture/craft shops and the beautiful trough of bowland. An overall lovely venue.

Day conference
Posted Jan 14, 2012
Pros: The food and the conference manager
Cons: None
Location: Beautiful, my husband comes from Liverpool, so it was like being close to home. The hotel was really lovely.
We were there at the IOSH one day conference, so it was a typical business day.

Safe reliable hotel without any wow
Posted Jan 28, 2012 on Hotels.com
Not much to report. Have known this hotel for years and it is handy for visiting our relatives. It's a bit dated in some areas eg: antiquated lift, and the new bedrooms are not very spacious. Overall though, no complaints; it's just a safe steady bet if you need somewhere to stay in this area at a reasonable price.

Disappointed
Posted Jan 3, 2010
The hotel is lovely and the food in the restaurant good. Unfortunately the room (105) was unbearably hot. We took the cover off the duvet which was, by the way winter weight, and it was still intolerable. There was a fan but this made things even more uncomfortable as it chilled us because we were sweating (pardon the details of this bit). I would recommend the hotel if the other rooms were not like 105!

Barton Grange - Good value Hotel
Posted Jan 7, 2010 on Hotels.com
I stayed at Barton Grange for the Wedding of a close friend in the Preston area. I booked through Hotel.com and found the process very simple. On arriving at the hotel the team member was very polite and efficient. We requested a taxi to drive myself and my Husband to the Church. This was ordered for us by the Hotel and the timescales for the journey was also sourced, ensuring we arrived in plenty of time for the ceremony. We did not return until later that evening and were able to check into our room without a problem. In the morning we didn't have breakfast but on checking out later on we took a tour of the hotel. We found the surroundings to be very pleasant and the Hotel was extremely clean and well decorated. The pool and gym were very nice and inviting ! Overall I felt that this was a lovely Hotel with excellent staff. I didn't use the full facilities within the Hotel but would definately return in order to do so ..... Thanks Barton Grange !
