Very pleasant stay and ideal for children.Posted Nov 1, 2013
Pros: Everything. The swimming pool was a plus for us because we had children. The two receptionists were excellent and very helpful.
Cons: The outside did look a little tired and maybe a little dated.
Location: We went to Blackpool which was only 30 minutes away.
Swimming pool facilities were excellent. I wish the web site had been more explicit and told us how good it was going to be.

Overnight stay.Posted Sep 17, 2013
Pros: Leisure centre : swimming pool / jacuzzi area. Lake very beautiful.
Cons: Check out time should be a bit later.
Location: N/A - didn't stay long enough to explore the area.
The swimming pool / Jacuzzi area was very relaxing and well planned. It provided a much needed relaxing time after a long car journey. Check-out time a bit early.

Perfect for our needsPosted Sep 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
The main part of the hotel was quite swish with very helpful and friendly staff, bar staff in particular, and 24hr food being available in that area was amazing. The swimming pools and hot tubs were great, made my weekend. Hot breakfast was as you'd expect from a mass produced buffet provision. Felt continental breakfast was a bit expensive for what was on offer. Natural yoghurt was produced when requested though. Our room was in the 'village' area. It was very clean with comfy beds, lovely biscuits, good quality hot chocolate sachets and very welcome lavender spray for my pillow. There was a very large refurbished bathroom. Personaly I didn't like the electric blue lighting over the bath but the shower worked great. Ironing board and iron could be a saviour. The building exteriors in the village area are very 1970's and need a bit of TLC but the gardens are well kept. The car park for our area was a bit dilapidated and a reasonable walk from our room but we managed to drop off the oldies before parking. We did't have time to explore all the grounds but the lake area looked lovely. The hotel was well placed for the motorway and the village we had come to visit. At the end of the day this hotel was exceptionally well priced for what we got and I would be very happy to return. We are now looking for another Best Western that can offer us a similar weekend away.

Convenient location on journey back from ScotlandPosted Sep 8, 2013
Pros: Clean, roomy, convenient
Location: Don't know what there is to do nearby
We have stayed here several times on our way home to Dorset from Scotland. Good location, near motorway and dog friendly in the village rooms.

Great facilities for a short breakPosted Sep 4, 2013
Pros: Great swimming facilities
Cons: Car parking area - using old disused camelot theme park area which has ppor lighting at night, large open space and patchy surface
Location: Easy access from M6 service station; blackpool and manchester are both a short drive away
Great convenient location off the M6 (can use slip road from the service station near by). Good sized room with all amenities located on site.

Recent 2 day break with familyPosted Aug 31, 2013
Pros: Staff very good and accommodating Good overall hotel reception and bar area
Cons: Cleanliness of the chalet rooms and the overall site itself could do with updating
Location: Location central for coastal visits. Good shopping in Preston we found with some good local pubs for good quality food
First room offered didn't have enough beds and we complained saying it was nothing like the pictures on the web site. Second room was much better and had been updated, We did however notice dog hair on the carpet which the vacuum clearly had not eradicated. The chalet area we where in did look dated when compared to the hotel part of the site. Leisure facilities where ok overall and all nice and clean Staff we have to say are very nice and pleasant

Tired but spaciousPosted Aug 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
Surpised to find we had a suite, i.e. big bathroom, bedroom with twin beds and lounge with sofas and pull-down double bed. Appreciated this extra room as expected to share room with our daughter. The decoration was pretty tired and somewhat dirty though. Swimming pool/gym was just opposite our room, but didn't use in the end. Reasonable selection of TV channels. Not much in surrounding area, but quiet location.
