Elegant hotel in nice setting

Posted Jul 17, 2015
From our arrival to checking out we were impressed with the high standard of customer care from all the staff, whether in the restaurant or the reception desk, they were attentive without being intrusive. We had a meal in the restaurant on two nights of our three night stay and on both occasions we were delighted with the variety and quality of the food. We would definitely go again and would not hesitate to recommend it to family and friends.

Quiet hotel close to University of Lancaster

Posted Jul 5, 2015
Pros: We liked the cleanliness and bedding in the hotel.
Cons: We stayed when the weather was hot and one night we could not have the window open so a fan would have been nice.
Location: The front of the hotel over looked beautiful countryside, it is next to the University of Lancaster , close to Lancaster City .
We stayed at the hotel for two nights. Although in places the hotel is beginning to look a little worn our stay was comfortable and very pleasant . The hotel itself was quiet and I can honestly say that the beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept in. We used the pool and hot tub which were both very clean. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will probably use the hotel again.

Good hotel and excellent breakfast

Posted Jul 4, 2015
Pros: Comfortable , clean , well appointed rooms ,good food and a friendly welcome.
Cons: Noisy mixer taps .
Location: Situated right next to Lancaster University - some distance from the city centre .
We only stayed one night in room 9 on a bed and breakfast basis but thoroughly enjoyed our stay . The room was well appointed , the huge bed very comfortable ,very helpful and friendly staff and a delicious breakfast . Our only criticism was the loud noise that radiated from the mixer tap on the basin in the bathroom . We could also hear the same noise when the facilities were used in the room next door .A problem that must be addressed as it interrupted our sleep .

A little bit of luxury

Posted Jun 9, 2015
We stayed for an overnight and we're not disappointed. Ore room was lovely, comfortable and quite airy. The blackout curtains were a fabulous touch especially with the lighter nights. The pool and spa facilities were a great addition and were very relaxing to use especially later in the evening. We only ate breakfast in the hotel however this was very lovely and plentiful with a number of options available. Staff who we spoke to were friendly and knowledgeable. We would definitely stay here again and would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

Exceeded Expectations

Posted Apr 26, 2015
Pros: Location, cleanliness, surroundings, breakfast
Cons: Bathroom a little dated - separate hot and cold taps are particularly annoying in this day and age (especially when the hot is really hot!).
Location: Literally on the doorstep of Lancaster University. The university's conference centre is actually part of the hotel. Several bars, food outlets nearby
I had a really wonderful stay. The staff were friendly, the room was comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was top notch. There is no better hotel in the Lancaster / University area.

Comfortable hotel next to Lancaster University

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: Its overall comfort and relaxed feel.
Cons: Some hotel and local information in the bedrooms would be useful.
Location: Next to Lancaster University. Short drive to the city of Lancaster. Nice town to spend a day in. Close to the coast and on the way to the Lakes.
The hotel is welcoming, with friendly and efficient staff. Reception has comfortable chairs and a log fire. Rooms are a good size, well furnished, with comfortable beds. Nice touches like a carafe for water which can be filled at water coolers in the corridor, good quality coffee and biscuits on the tea tray. Heating is easy to control. Facilities include a spa and gym, with a decent sized swimming pool. There are board games for loan at reception. The bar is pleasant and comfortable with good bar food. There is a also a restaurant but we didn't try it on this occasion. Very good value for the room rate
