Staff excellent, room spacious and clean, free wifi, very ambient bar area, not enough fish in fish pie. Will return and would recommend - just not the fish pie!!

Excellent hotel, well done MacDonald!!Posted Jul 13, 2015
Excellent stay. This was only a convenient stop over to break up a long journey, but turned out to be one of the best nights sleep of the whole holiday!

Excellent stop off en route to SouthPosted Jun 16, 2015
We loved our visit and the friendliness of the staff. Only two small points were that there is only one easy chair in double rooms. Why? There are two people staying. The other is that a full breakfast price of £15 is over the top, even for this standard of hotel. In my experience of many high quality hotels the breakfast cost should be around £8 to provide reasonable value for money and still provide a good profit for the hotel.

Great hotel. Great staff. We stayed at the hotel for a week while visiting family in Hutton. The hotel was conveniently located to the motorway and the morning breakfast got us ready to start each day.

Nice convenient hotel right on M6 J31Posted Mar 31, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff. Great view of river from room. Very convenient location right next to M6 J31. Good food selection at the bar and in the restaurant
Cons: Breakfast at £17.50 was rather expensive for what was provided. Signage into the hotel from the roundabout could be much better, entrance is unclear
Location: Signage in Preston is pretty dire. Thank goodness for GPS. Signposted route back to the M6 from town took us miles out of our way down to Junction 30
Only real downside apart from poor value breakfast was they forgot fried bread that was ordered. Buffet breakfast on Sunday was much better idea and fried bread was plentiful. Venue was ideal for the birthday celebration we attended and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly surprised that no Worcester sauce was available, but this is not the first time I've experienced a hotel without. How do they serve a Bloody Mary? Worcester sauce is a pre-requisite!
