Great hotel. Great staff. We stayed at the hotel for a week while visiting family in Hutton. The hotel was conveniently located to the motorway and the morning breakfast got us ready to start each day.

Nice convenient hotel right on M6 J31Posted Mar 31, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff. Great view of river from room. Very convenient location right next to M6 J31. Good food selection at the bar and in the restaurant
Cons: Breakfast at £17.50 was rather expensive for what was provided. Signage into the hotel from the roundabout could be much better, entrance is unclear
Location: Signage in Preston is pretty dire. Thank goodness for GPS. Signposted route back to the M6 from town took us miles out of our way down to Junction 30
Only real downside apart from poor value breakfast was they forgot fried bread that was ordered. Buffet breakfast on Sunday was much better idea and fried bread was plentiful. Venue was ideal for the birthday celebration we attended and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly surprised that no Worcester sauce was available, but this is not the first time I've experienced a hotel without. How do they serve a Bloody Mary? Worcester sauce is a pre-requisite!

we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, service was good, nice view of the river,we will be back,if we get back to England again.the food was also very good.the bar great.all round great service.the only thing that was a drawback was we used a key to get into the room,no modern keycards,im still pleased with the hotel.also we had to carry a piece of plastic about 4 inches long with the key attached to it,we had to plug the plastic into a slot in the room,in order to have lights???

Pros: The situation and friendly staff.
Cons: Prices in restaurant ,and the staff even though very nice ,some did not understand English very well.
Location: Good stop off situation
The restaurant prices were very high and had a problem with getting our order right took three atempts to get a very simple request right. apart from that a very nice hotel and a good stop off on the way to Scotland

Not my best stay awayPosted Feb 25, 2015
Nice riverside location from rear. Very short stay due to need for accommodation near M6 or railway station for Scotland. The latter wasn't available so I stayed here, as very close to M6 for being dropped off - good. Staff friendly enough and full of promise, however: Impossible to get any form of draught lager which retained a head for more than a few minutes, no one knew how to rectify. Ordered an early morning taxi pre breakfast time and was advised I could get a coffee and toast before being collected - still waiting for coffee had to leave before made (>15 mins). However they organised taxis brilliantly. Unable to print out receipt due to computer system failure - still await posted or emailed receipt 2 weeks on. May sound picky, but I don't normally expect so many errors in one stay

Poor attention to customers.Posted Feb 20, 2015
I booked a Valentine's overnight stay. While we were served quickly in the restaurant we seemed to be the lucky ones as many others were waiting over an hour between courses. We also ordered breakfast in bed, only to find they hadn't been round to collect the orders. Overall a nice stay just let down by the attention to customers.
