Superb place to stayPosted Jul 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
Excellent staff, lovely room. Free parking and WiFi (although the connection wasn't brilliant - I still managed to get my work done). Food was superb. A great place to stay, no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

week-end breakPosted Apr 15, 2013
Location: Ovelooking the River Wyre. Very scenic when the tide was in, very interesting when the tide was out for watching wading birds
We booked in overnight and were given a room overlooking the River Wyre. The decor of the room was good, the only minor criticism I would make was that the room was a little stark without any rugs on the floor. The staff were friendly. Alan was particularly helpful, giving my daughter a lift (we had travelled by train and didn't have access to a car) and also staying late to check my son in when he was held up on the motorway. We ate at the hotel and enjoyed the evening meal. The breakfast was good and there was plenty of choice. It would be very enjoyable for a week-end break

Quality hotel in nice rural locationPosted Sep 25, 2012
Pros: Cleanliness and location.
Cons: Small shower room. Double bed, would prefer a kingsize.
Location: Lovely countryside. Not too far from motorway if you want to split a long journey.
Stayed one night. Room very nice, shower room a bit on the small side. Nice view overlooking the river. Ate in the restaurant and the meal was very nice indeed.

Great spacious family roomPosted Aug 21, 2012
Booked in last minute not knowing anything of hotel and area. Really pleased with our room , spacious, modern and spotless. We had booked a family room but the sofa bed had not been made up for us. Within five mins bedding had arrived for us, we asked them to leave it as we were enjoying the view from the sofa and whilst we were out they made my sons bed ready for our return. Breakfast was lovely and a great view over the river even on a rainy day. Would definitely recommend this hotel only criticism would be the toilet paper, I would suggest taking your own if you prefer the softer variety.

Fantastic all roundPosted Jun 29, 2012 on Hotels.com
I can't say enough about this place - it is a great place to stay and the staff are brilliant. The breakfast is great, the restaurant is nice and homely, and the night time meals are great local food. The location is good in a nice rural area and of course right on the river wyre. The best place to go at night is poulton for nice meals, cocktails and a few drinks. I am moving to the area so will be glad to have this place as my local!
