Attic RoomPosted Nov 2, 2013
Pros: Heating worked well, it was quite cold and damp out so it was nice to return to a warm room.
Cons: It would be nice to order breakfast every day not just when you arrive.
Location: Location excellent for seafront. We went to the indoor waterpark, very good value for money had a very enjoyable morning there.
We stayed with our granddaughter in a room on the top floor, room quite small ensuite was tiny shower took ages to warm up but all in all hotel was ok. We didn't pay a lot for the three us so we got what we expected.

This is how a guest house should bePosted May 10, 2013
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff
Cons: Not much parking in area
Location: Ideal just a couple of minutes walk to south pier
The guest house is great family ran, and very friendly and helpful. Ideal for a stop over for the weekend. And good place for catching the attractions in the area. The staff were very good and knowledgeable about the area, and what's happening. Per order breakfast the night before, so it all ready for when you come down. On the whole the guest house was good, I will stay there again

Provides the basics needs...Posted Nov 5, 2012
Pros: In a quiet street away from the noise but still close to all of the main attractions.
Cons: Small shower room and a tiny TV on mounted high on the wall in the corner of the room making it almost impossible to watch.
Location: Good location.
A dated hotel with basic but clean facilities. No single sex parties allowed which was good as we were with a young child so no stag / hen parties waking everyone up. Great location for the Pleasure Beach but a bit of a walk to get the to the 'Tower' end of town. Located on a quiet street, our room was on the first floor facing the road and we weren't disturbed at all by noise. Decor seemed to be whatever could be found, so a lot of pictures on the walls that didn't provide a theme and a plastic chiili plant for decoration in the room. Why? Breakfast was ok, however, your choices were taken the day before so not an option of having what you fancied on the morning. Overall it provided a bed for the 2 nights we were there but I don't think it would be too difficult to find a better standard of B&B for the same price.

A perfectly lovely stay!!Posted Apr 16, 2012
Pros: The food and the atmosphere
Cons: The attic room (booked hotel with less than 24hours notice so was only room left)
Location: Perfect for the Pleasure Beach and promenade
Lovely family run B&B and the staff cant do enough for you. The breakfast is lovely and the evening meal is only £5 per person for a 3 course meal that I would challenge anyone to be able to finish. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definately stay here again (and will be). My only gripe would be that we booked with only a days notice and the only family room still available was in the attic. Whilst it was perfectly clean and had an ensuite toilet, shower and sink, there was a roof beam that both myself and my child banged our heads. This is only in one corner of the room and the rest of the room is obviously normal roof height. It has its own bar with TV, pool table, toys and games for the kids and a great atmosphere. It also has a living room which has a load of videos to keep you and the kids entertained. The B&B is situated a few minutes walk from the South pier and perfect for those who want to access the waterpark (which I totally recommend) or the Pleasure Beach. It also has a TV with Freeview in the bedrooms. I really would recommend this B&B, we felt completely safe, well fed and it would appeal to both families, couples and contractors alike, something for everyone. I look forward to booking again soon.

Friendly hotelPosted Apr 5, 2012
Pros: Friendly staff, clean room
Cons: Small size of the toilet
Location: Very close to the tourist attractions especiallt the pleasure beach, south pier etc and within walking distance of the blackpool tower.
A small and nice hotel situated close to the Blackpool south station and within walking distance of the promenade. The staff were very friendly and did their best to cater to our needs especially with respect to the food.

Very friendlyPosted Oct 30, 2011
Location: This is an ideal location for visiting the Blackpool Illuminations but check the dates first. Blackpool Pleasure Beach is only a 10 minute walk from the hotel and less than 5 minutes from South Peir. Central and North Peirs are accessible by trams and buses although timetable is erratic. We found it better to stick with the rides on the peirs for our 5 year old as most of the Pleasure Beach rides were unsuitable due to height restrictions and a lot more expensive.
From the moment we arrived, the welcome from Tammy and Yvonne (her mum) was very friendly and we were made to feel at home. The room was very clean as was the rest of the hotel. Ensure you are hungry when you go in to breakfast as it is freshly cooked and in bountiful supply! We spent our evenings playing pool or watching TV in the bar where our 5 year old could play with construction toys to her hearts content with the ever patient Tammy joining in. The Westdean is well located for the South Peir and Promenade which are only a 5 minute walk away. If you are travelling by train, Blackpool South is only a 5 minute, level walk away. If travelling by car, be prepared for the limited parking. We were lucky to get on-street parking virtually outside but didn't then dare to move the car for the rest of the stay. There are car parks 5-10 minutes away.

Generally the hotel was fine for the couple of days my daughter and I stayed. Room was small but the bed was comfortable. The room was not made up after the first nights stay which was a bit of a surprise, and I had to go downstairs to ask for toilet roll as we had run out and there were no spares. Breakfast was nicely cooked extra toast and tea were available if required. Perfect location for The Pleasure Beach. Overall I would stay again.
