Place to SleepPosted Jan 20, 2014
Not a bad place to sleep for a night, considering the price. Fridge/microwave were just stacked in a corner to cover up the ratty carpet. Heat only worked if you turned it as high as it would go (18 degrees outside). Bed was hard. However it was clean enough and the price was on par with the amenities. If you simply need a place to sleep for a night, you could do much worse for the price. If you'll be staying in Lancaster for a few days, pony up for a nicer hotel.

Not as ExpectedPosted Jan 8, 2014
Pros: Good Location
Cons: Everything else
First of all, all the rooms are outside. I did not see that listed on the website when I booked. The beds were listed as queens but seemed like doubles. When I called to say I booked queen beds they insisted they were queens. the queen beds were the main reason for booking here! We arrived very late so too tired to argue or change rooms. It was a very cold night when we arrived. Even at Max heat the heater only blew lukewarm air. There were no extra blankets. The sink was clogged so just brushing teeth was gross. The shower had low pressure. There were candy wrappers in the corner of the room. Bathroom corners dingy. Seemed like housekeeping cut a lot of corners. The TV was so grainy it was miserable to watch. The breakfast (second reason for booking here) was waffles, cereal or bagel. I was expecting at least a yogurt. Although they have a spacious and very pretty breakfast area, the variety was not up to par of other Days Inns. the coffee was awful. I wish there was some good redeeming thing to say about this place but I was too disappointed. They have a lot of rooms here. Maybe I just got unlucky and the other rooms are a lot better. Glad it was only one night.

Fire alarm malfunctionPosted Dec 30, 2013
The fire alarm went off every 15 minutes beginning at 4:00 am. They didn't bring in anyone to look at the system until 6:30 am. Not a good nights sleep!

Pros: The location and breakfast were good.
Cons: Add a reading chair near the floor lamp. Keep the room as non-smoking and remove ashtray.
Location: The Lititz Christmas Eve services are why we visit the area.
The non-smoking room smelled of cigarette smoke , and there could have been a second chair in the room as the beds are not comfortable to try to sit upon.

Pros: The friendly staff were just wonderful.
I arrived earlier than check-in was listed. They allowed me to check in anyways provided that the room hadn't been cleaned quite yet. Room was done quickly and everything was to satisfaction.

One of the better low-cost hotels in LancasterPosted Dec 18, 2013
After visiting Lancaster several times while house shopping, I was beginning to think every hotel in Lancaster was bad. Fortunately, Days Inn proved to be quite better than many others and offered clean, comfortable, and well serviced rooms. The room was clean and well appointed; there was a large desk, good WIFI, and plenty of outlets to charge my numerous electronic devices. Water pressure was good, tub and sink drainage was good, the bed was unusually comfortable, and with the exception of a little water damage on the ceiling above the vanity, the room was perfect. Housekeeping was quite pleasant, responsive, and fun. Located on 501, a busy road leading into downtown Lancaster, there are several eateries, groceries, and attractions nearby. Route 30 and 222 are a stones throw from the hotel so accessing Lancaster county and beyond is simple. While I did not eat the breakfast, I did get coffee from the lobby on several occasions and the breakfast appeared to be the usual continental fare. The front desk and hotel staff were cordial and always very pleasant given I stayed for five days and often had questions. I have stayed at some real bad apples in Lancaster but Days Inn was a nice surprise!

Get what you pay for, except a barPosted Dec 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
Hotel was about what you'd expect for the rates charged. However, we specifically booked this hotel because it said it had a bar/lounge. When we got there, there was a "Do not enter" sign on the door leading to the bar, and it was pretty much cleaned out. Had we known this, we would have booked a different hotel

The room was adequate and clean. No ESPN, but other than that everything was fine.

Never again!Posted Dec 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
When we checked in, the lobby was very nice. The staff was nice. The room was terrible! The mattress looked like a wave pool. The comforter looked worn and dirty. The room smelled like someone had "cleaned" it by spraying an entire can of Lysol. We took one look and went back to the lobby and turned the keys in. The rooms were reserved via Hotels.com and were non-refundable. We lost a chunk of cash, but it was worth the loss. There was no way were were going to stay there. Drove home 4 hours instead of staying overnight. DO NOT stay here! It is located just off the highway, but that is the only redeeming feature. If I had to sum it up, I would say it was a "book and charge by the hour" hotel. Very seedy.
