“Great hotel for a weekend away”

Great hotel for families, as the indoor water park is a fantastic place to take kids from toddlers to teens.

“Nice Hotel/poor service”

This is a beautiful hotel and great for kids. The indoor pool and waterpark appeared to be well maintained. The rooms were nice and clean. My only complaint is that the hotel and restaurant were understaffed and seemed inexperienced too. Everyone was nice, but there was one young woman at the check in desk with a long line of guests - no concereige or anyone to just answer a simple questions. She seemed very overwelmed. The restuarant seemed adequately staffed, but not by many with any experience waiting on people. We waited over 1/2 hour for a very simple breakfast. Having said all that, I would try this place again because of the nice clean rooms and nice swimming facility.

the hotel was nicely decorated for Christmas and the restaurant servce was excellent.

The location is in a very pretty golfing area but out of the way for restaurants and other activities. Fabulous pool and waterpark area. very friendly staff.

“Not impressed”

We were given an interior room, facing the banquet area of the hotel. The room had a non-operational French door that faced the banquet area. There were four banquets there during our three night stay! Three banquets were in the evening and one was setting up before 8am. The noise from the banquets was very disturbing, especially since we have two small children who wanted to go to sleep. People knocked on the windows of the French door during one banquet. Kids at the banquet were running up and down the walkway on the other side of the French door another one of the banquets. The set up/ clean up crew banged things around creating a lot of noise too. The small accent pillows on the beds were stained and had hair on them. There was bright orange gum under the edge of the nightstand and gray used gum on the door's threshold . There was black gum ground into the carpet by the tv. There was hair on the bathroom door. The water came out of the shower head so fast and hard that it stung. There was no way to adjust the water pressure. A requested crib in the room had to be asked for twice. The kid's pool did not open until later than advertised. We only got the famous DoubleTree chocolate chip cookies when we asked for them, and the clerk had to go into the back room to find them. We were so disappointed with a variety of aspects of the hotel. The cost of the hotel is high, so we expected a decent hotel. We were extremely disappointed.
