Budget Motel with Decent Amenities

Posted Jan 15, 2015
Pros: Price Comfortable beds Clean room
Cons: Better WiFi Bathroom improvements More and more easily accessible outlets A room heater with a working thermostat (it got very warm!)
Location: This is on the eastern outskirts of Lancaster, close to Amish farm and tourist country, Dutch wonderland park, and outlet malls.
This is a budget motel with some decent amenities for the price. The beds were clean and comfortable, there was a refrigerator and microwave in the room, the TV was modern and large, the cable channels were plentiful. The staff was friendly, but somewhat aloof. The room cleaning staff did a nice job of tidying up the room each day. On the downside, the WiFi was inconsistent and spotty, the bathroom fixtures needed serious work, the bathroom ceiling tiles were falling out, and the noise from route 30 was pretty intrusive. Overall, it was nice to stay for a few days and I was able to get some work done and be comfortable. For the bucks, not bad.

Budget hotel - quality for the buck

Posted Dec 27, 2014
Pros: Clean rooms Good WiFi Fridge, microwave
Cons: Bathroom needs to be updated Don't have timer on bed lamps better spacing on wall sockets
Location: Outlet mall shopping Dutch Wonderland Amish Farm Country Greenfield Industrial park Hi Industries
This is a nice budget hotel that delivers quality for the prices it charges. The rooms are neat and clean, the breakfast bar is sufficient, and the staff efficient. The main living areas of the rooms are modern with new covers on the beds and flat screen TVs, refrigerators, and microwaves. The shower rooms are a bit out of date, with old fixtures on the bathtubs and peeling and falling down ceiling tiles. The place was overall nice enough for several day stay, but don't expect a ton of amenities.

Budget Motel with a good value for the price

Posted Dec 22, 2014
Pros: Clean, comfortable rooms. Attentive staff Good value for the price
Cons: Bathroom Pulling out plugs of the lights and electrical appliances Sketchy WiFi
Location: Right on Hiway 30, so all Lancaster attractions are close: Dutch Wonderland, outlet malls, Amish farm country, Strassburg railway, Lancaster city
This is a nice place for a day or a few days' stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The main living area was modern and had a microwave, refrigerator, flat screen TV, hair dryer. The staff was diligent about cleaning and making up the room and did a nice job making everything like new. The bathroom fixtures were dated and the shower fixture was difficult to make work correctly. The ceiling in the bathroom was peeling and tiles were falling out. That was the only downside to the room. The WiFi was a little slow and connections were difficult some days. Oh, and their seems to be some desire to unplug applicances, clocks, and lights so that when you go into the room, the lights don't work until you replug them and you have to reset the clocks and microwave. It is right on Rte 30, which means it has great access, but also a good deal of road noise. The breakfast buffet had several types of muffins, rolls, and cereals, as well as toaster waffles and fruit. Very nice.

Nice Budget Motel

Posted Dec 16, 2014
Pros: Price Proximity to attractions Clean, modern rooms
Cons: Bathrooms Penchant for unplugging lights and clocks so they have to be reset every day.
Location: Dutch Wonderland - 1/2 mile Oulet malls - 1 or 2 miles Amish farmland - 5-10 miles Sight and Sound Theater - 7 miles Strasburg Railway - 13 miles
This is a nice place for short stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There are modern flat screen TVs, refrigerators, and microwaves in every room. The staff is helpful, but a little aloof. The location is right on the edge of Lancaster, so it's not far from outlet shopping, Amish farms, sightseeing, and the Strasburg railroad. The only downsides are the bathrooms and the proximity to route 30. It is right on the road, so the road noise is present all the time. The bathrooms are a little out of date. They're clean, but the fixtures are a little old and don't always work well, and the ceiling was in serious need of repair. It's a good stay for the budget traveler - good clean rooms, good breakfast, great price.

Budget Hotel - good deal for the price

Posted Dec 9, 2014
Pros: Clean rooms Good WiFi Good Price
Cons: Updated bathrooms Better heater that shuts off automatically Coffee makers in rooms
Location: Outlet mall shopping Downtown Lancaster (5 miles) Downtown Strasburg (8 miles) Amish country (5 miles)
This is a typical budget hotel. Not many amenities, but clean and comfortable. The room was clean and the staff did a good job of cleaning it every day. The main bedroom area was nice with a new, modern bedspread and pillows, modern TV with plenty of channels, refrigerator, microwave, clock radio, hair dryer. The bathroom was kind of run down with an old style ball valve on the tub and ceiling tiles that were loose and falling off. The staff was friendly and helpful when you asked, but didn't necessarily go out of their way to help. Breakfast bar is good and plentiful and Mike the manager replenishes it often. For the money, it's a great place to rest for the night or for a couple of days.

Nice Budget Motel

Posted Nov 25, 2014
Pros: Clean rooms, good TV, helpful staff Microwave and fridge
Cons: Bathroom fixtures and cieling Needs a clock radio More consistent WiFi
Location: Dutch Wonderland Amusement park = 1/2 mile Outlet Malls = 1 - 2 miles Strassburg railway
Nice motel for the price. Clean rooms, helpful staff. Bathroom could use some upgrading - the handle on the shower was difficult to figure out and to get a temperature that was between scalding and freezing. The room had a refrigerator and a microwave, which was nice, but no alarm clock / radio. The TV and stations were modern and good, but the WiFi was a little sketchy and I had to ask for the router to be reset. Breakfast bar was varied and fresh and the place was pretty quiet. The only problem is how near it is to highway 30 - lots of traffic noise all day and night. For the price, it's a good buy.

Budget Motel that is OK

Posted Nov 12, 2014
Pros: Clean, comfortable rooms Microwave, fridge in each room Price
Cons: More outlets Better WiFi Soundproof the rooms Better hot water heater
Location: Dutch Wonderland - 1/2 mile Amish farm country - 5 miles Outlet malls - 1-2 miles Ephrata Cloister - 20 miles
This is an OK budget motel - nothing special, but nothing really bad, either. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable. The TV and stations are modern and good (nice LCD large screen). Each room has a refrigerator, a microwave, and a clock radio. The WiFi is really hit and miss - it was miss for the week I was there. I couldn't get a consistent and reliable signal. The bath fixtures are outdated and need to be refurbished and the water needed to run for a few minutes to get hot. The noise from close by hiway 30 gets pretty loud, otherwise the hotel is quiet and peaceful. The staff is friendly and helpful, but a little aloof. It's one of those places that isn't luxury, but the prices are the best in town.
