“Lots of character, historic, beautiful, creative”

Why stay in a cookie-cutter chain hotel when you can stay in a historic building that was tastefully renovated with high-quality materials and art? This place is a unique experience and actually an excellent value considering the quality. Comfortable walk to historic downtown. We stayed there - me, wife, 1-year-old, for two nights over the weekend. Don't worry about the person who complained about the neighborhood. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it, just a little quiet. Maybe they are too used to suburbia! It's only about 5-10 mins walk to the historic area. Lancaster is a great town, friendly people, artistic, intelligent. The restaurant uses local food from the Amish farms nearby who only let their cows eat what nature intended: grass from grazing the fields. The health benefits from eating milk or meat from such cows are far different than the damage caused by grain-fed factory raised beef. The only complaint I have is that the string of lights hanging in the room was clearly an Ikea item and was cheap compared to the rest of the furnishings and materials. Poor choice, but a tiny problem in retrospect. There is a also a cool "Artpath" bicycle path that starts behind the hotel and they rent bikes for, I think $10/day to take advantage of it. Breakfast is actually quite good and comprehensive for a "continental" and they use some local ingredients (eggs) and good fair trade coffee too. All in all an excellent experience and we will definitely be back.

“Wonderful experiance at the Landcaster Arts Hotel!”

I highly recommend the Landcaster Arts Hotel. I almost never write reviews for anything, yet my boyfriend and I were floored by how lovely this botique hotel was. It wasn't over the top or supersized, but every detail was cleverly thought-out and wonderful. We only were able to stay one night but would love to go back should we find ourselves in Lancaster again.

“Unique. Fantastic. Wonderful Attention to Detail.”

This has to be the best hotel I've ever stayed at. The attention to detail was fantastic. What first attracted us to the hotel is it's contribution to the community. Taking an old warehouse and using local craftsman to redo the place into a viable business in the community is a task I think should be lauded. Then, once we got to the hotel, we realized that there was something to appreciate around every turn. These guys really pulled out all the stops on this one. And at a reasonable price, especially for what you get. We did get a good deal on Expedia, but the full rate is definitely worth it. If we could live there, we would. The art, the history, the architecture, the friendliness of the staff, the atmosphere all offer something new and special. Cute meeting spaces, free WiFi, great on-site restaurant, located very near a(n almost) thriving downtown district, and a great breakfast selection all add up to a superb experience.

“Something special in Lancaster”

This is a great hotel that is a refreshing change from all the usual cookie cutter chains. They did a beautiful job keeping the brick and beams construction of the historic building. They showcase art from a variety of local artists which is a nice tie-in to the growing arts area of Lancaster. Service was excellent. Standard room was small but very well designed and appointed. Highly recommended.

“Great Hotel”

I stayed here w/ my 2 young boys who, thankfully, were on their good behavior. This is a beautiful hotel with a great staff and lovely restaurant. We really enjoyed our stay.

“Impressed”

CONS: Elevator is slow, shower could have had more water pressure, no safe for valuables, and the TV in the room could have been a bit larger. PROS: Clean, nice staff, spacious room, comfy bed, free wifi, and free continental breakfast. Unique feel, artsy decor with paintings and quilts hanging on the walls for sale. Location is pretty central and was great for our itinerary(Amish exp, Hershey, Herrs, Crystal Caves, Hot air balloon, Cabelas, Green Dragon Market for some ideas ;)
