Landstuhl Schloss HotelPosted Jul 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
Cute German family operated hotel at the base of a hill which has the remains of an old castle. Good food with excellent breakfasts. Nice staff..The rooms were clean and well appointed. They host weddings each Saturday in the summer! not good for sleeping + no AC..

Schloss HotelPosted Apr 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
Stay was very nice. One incident which upset me was biting into a piece of glass while I was having my breakfast. When I showed the waitress, she called the manager who responded in a very unconcerned, defensive manner-shrugging his shoulders saying it was not their fault and blaming it on the manufacturer of the product. Those things can happen, but I thought his attitude was very unprofessional and uncaring. Other than that, everything else was great and the rest of the staff was very friendly.

Enjoy German hospitalityPosted Sep 1, 2012
The staff is professional, spoke English and were very helpful. The food was excellent. The hotel was only a 10 minute walk from the castle ruins.

A relaxing place with balconyPosted Aug 26, 2012 on Hotels.com
A relaxing location, very pleasant, well equipped room with floral balcony overlooking the parasols in open courtyard for open air dining. Scope for energetic walk up to schloss or down into quiet town. Ample breakfast with ample variety. Efficient service.

Nice, clean, good food, medium servicePosted Jul 21, 2012
Pros: Great food, clean rooms, good location
Cons: Mediocre service (though generally friendly)
Location: Quaint hotel at the foot of a German castle, beautiful setting. However, if you're driving, it's up a steep narrow hill.
The pros - beautiful location at the foot of a castle. Charming exterior, excellent food in the restaurant. Close to Landstuhl hospital and Ramstein air base. Clean and quaint. The cons - If you're renting a car, you have to drive through very narrow streets and up a steep, narrow hill to reach the hotel. Although the rooms are clean, there's a lack of toiletries like shampoo. Front desk tends not to be staffed, and staff can be difficult to find. Some difficulty in communicating with staff in English, although they are generally friendly.

A little medieval charmPosted Jul 18, 2012
Overall, the Schloss is a charming hotel in a charming setting -- in the shadow of Nanstein Castle. It's clean and the restaurant offers German specialties that don't disappoint. The reasonable price draws a varied crowd including many foreign visitors. The downside to this is the no frills approach. Don't look for mini toiletries. Soap is provided at the sink and in the showers there's a body wash/shampoo combo. The only other thing to note is that the Schloss is in Germany (duh) and in a smaller town. English is spoken, but not as prominently as in the larger cities. This is true at the hotel as well. Despite some minor language barriers, all of the employees were very friendly and helpful.
