Great location for a beach stayPosted Jul 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
Casa del Mar isn't a five star luxury resort (unlike, say, Hotel Tugu in Lombok, Indonesia) but it ticks all the boxes for a short stay - clean, comfortable, friendly attentive staff, fantastic fresh juices in a fabulous beachfront location.A beachfront villa is the way to go. The key is that it is a short plane flight from KL, and then a super short taxi ride from Langkawi Airport. For us, it was the perfect escape from KL for a long weekend and we spent more time on the beach than in transit, which is what u want when time is of the essence.

Relaxing breakPosted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: Our room, which was clean and comfortable, was near nice beach and great swimmingpool. Food was excellent.
Cons: The service was a little slow at our evening meal on the beach, everything else was great.
Location: Good location - close to airport. Renting a car was good idea, but limited places of interest. Cable car walkway closed at top for maintenance.
We only had one full day on Langkawi - wish we could have stayed a little longer at this excellent hotel. Our only slight niggle were the noisy jet skis in the sea nearby. Not sure if there were (m)any jelly fish, as we didn't have time to swim in the sea - but the hotel pool was great!

Really Recommend...Posted Jun 4, 2014 on Hotels.com
Our stay began with a personal check in over a welcome drink followed by a tour of the hotel and amenities in our room. We loved all the LITTLE TOUCHES from cute little pots of bath salt and shampoo, handmade soap, biscuits, fruit and a nespresso machine to beach bags, robes and candles lit for your return from the beach in the evening. This hotel will constantly SURPRISE you. The hotel personal BREAKFASTS are made to order and there's a good range of cereal, bread and homemade preserves and juices that you help yourselves to. As well as a new surprise addition to the buffet table every day- one day quiches, another muffins, and then our personal favourite- the DIY champagne Bellini's! We would enjoy a leisurely breakfast enjoying views of the sea! Throughout the day expect more surprises with complimentary iced citrus water, homemade mango ice cream and skewers of melon delivered to your comfy sun lounger! We enjoyed SUNSET COCKTAILS on the beach and spinning the wheel during happy hour in an attempt to win free cocktails, then two tasty meals at the restaurant. The hotel LIBRARY and DVD rental (to watch in your room or the cinema lounge) was also a really great service! My only advice to the hotel would be to improve the WI-FI; whilst we had no problem connecting in the restaurant and on the beach, we were disappointed that our 'in-room wi-fi' was never available.

Great stay at Casa Del MarPosted Dec 18, 2013
Cons: Frequently jellyfish get inside of the swimming area and people get stung. It is not the hotels duty but if they pressured government it would be nice
Location: Good location near everything and right on the beach.
We stayed for one week Dec. 9-16, 2013 and really enjoyed it. It's a beautiful hotel with each room facing the ocean. The hotel is right on the beach. In addition, la Sal, their restaurant, is the top ranked restaurant in the area. If you have ever dreamed of a romantic dinner on the beach, this is it. All the tables are on the beach! All the drinking water is complimentary and they even gave us a bottle of wine at the end of our stay. Fantastic place for a holiday!

Just a truly delightful holiday.Posted Oct 16, 2013
This hotel certainly sets the bar for all other holiday hotels in how to behave and treat their hotel guests. All staff could speak English for a start and give you a welcoming smile and hello. Staff bringing you iced water, ice cold flanels to your sunbed on the beach directly in front of the hotel along with fruit and ice creams in the afternoons. No need to go out in the evenings as the hotel dining is just first class. Sometimes preparing the tables and dining on the beach under moonlight. Other nice touches include free postcards and post, free film videos for you to watch and free coffee/tea until 3pm each day. Scented candles are lit in your bedroom along with fresh fruit. Just a shame all other hotels didn't provide the same 1st class service. Don't look anywhere else!

A charming hotelPosted May 22, 2013
Pros: The extensive menu and exquisite food served in the hotel; the genuine friendliness of all staff; the spa services; the ambience of a boutique hotel
Cons: Not having WiFi available in the vicinity of our room. Apparently something was faulty
Location: Located at one end of the main street. Within easy walking distance of shops, stalls and eateries. The hotel vicinity is quiet and peaceful.
Casa del Mar is a unique hotel. It is well described as a boutique hotel - relatively small, nicely appointed with lots of charm. The food that was served was of a consistently exceptional standard: fresh, delicate flavours and always beautifully presented. So much so, that we chose not to eat anywhere else during our 4 day stay. In addition, the choice of wine, cocktails and beverages was plentiful. Breakfast was fabulous and was served all morning. The opportunity to eat a magnificent dinner at sunset with our feet burrowed in powdery soft sand was truly memorable. The hotel is well appointed and houses a decent sized swimming pool. The spa provides many treatments: we had two different massages and a facial - all lovely. It is worth noting that one needs to book a day or so in advance for treatment as the spa is not overly large and times seem to fill quickly. The personal touches provided were appreciated: the way the room was prepared for us each evening (I won't give too much away!). The staff clearly enjoy working as a team. It seriously felt like they were one big happy family. Our only disappointment was that during our stay we were unable to connect to WiFi in the vicinity of our room and had to use the 'open' connection in the library. This was inconvenient for us as we had an urgent need to be constantly liaising with family members back home. Apparently, there was something faulty which was being investigated. To sum up: A charming hotel with peaceful ambience.
