Comfortable stayPosted Sep 26, 2013
Location: Anise spa. There is also a convenience store in the same building as the spa which means you don't have to travel far to get toiletries or snacks.
We picked this hotel because we wanted a hotel close to the airport and one that was not at either extreme end of the island. We were overall very comfortable at the Langkawi Lagoon Resort. Staff were accommodating and the food from the a la carte menu at the Anjum Brasserie was world class in particular the pan fried seabass. The rooms were also extremely spacious.

Lovely, friendly hotelPosted Jul 9, 2013
Pros: Friendly staff, clean room, good breakfast.
Cons: You can't swim in the sea from their beach.
Location: A little out of the way, but not too bad.
The room (Hill View Deluxe) was spacious, comfortable and clean. The only incident was the air-conditioning stopped working at one point but once we reported it, it was fixed extremely promptly. We arrived a few hours before the official check-in time but we were allowed to check-in after only a short wait and a complementary drink. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout and the woman in guest services deserves five stars for the help and advice she gave us while we were there. On food, we only had breakfast at the hotel, but had no complaints. There was a wide selection of food available to suit most tastes. Other reviews have mentioned the beach. Yes, the sea is too muddy to swim in but the beach itself is lovely. And as it isn't used much, we managed to find some really nice complete shells. There isn't much near it, so taxi rides to places to swim and eat are the norm. Or hire a car.

Poor value for moneyPosted Jul 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
A very average hotel with poor customer service attitude and not worth the money spent. The staff was almost rude in their response to even regular requests and seem to be doing a favour to Customers. The hotel is very rigid when it comes to regular service matters. The buffet dinner in night is ridiculously expensive. Overall, very poor customer attitude....

Stay elsewherePosted May 13, 2013
Pros: The tour guide recommended the jet skiing tour and booked it for us which was excellent.
Cons: Decor, comfort.
Location: Quite isolated, not close to anything really if you like to walk.
This was not what I expected from a four star hotel. It is quite run down and definitely needs a lick of paint. The hotel general feels quite old and dated. The food was hit and miss, one day a dish would be good, the next it would be bland. The hotel also charges you to use the games room (table tennis and pool table) which seems a bit of a cheap and unnecessary move, especially given that we had to repair the table tennis table before we could use it. The hotel also isn't within walking distance of anywhere so be prepared to pay for lots of taxis, and as you'd expect in this part of the world be prepared for every taxi driver to try to rip you off after 11pm. Also the swimming pool closes at 7:30pm which seems quite early.

Loved the poolside barPosted May 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
Really enjoyed my stay here - it's a little bit off the beaten track so you basically have to get a taxi to get around the island, but these are generally waiting so you can get going straightaway, and I think all the taxi prices are fixed by the Malaysian Tourism board so you don't need to haggle. There's a private beach on site - if you want a more 'social' beach you're probably better with one of the ones further down the coast, but it suited us just fine :) Enjoyed dinner sitting outside on the beach the first night. Rooms are nice and spacious and comfy. Breakfast buffet had a good selection of different things. The pool was nice, and also had a poolside bar (so you can actually just sit in the pool) and could order food/cocktails etc. and just get them charged to your room, then once you got bored of that you could laze on the sun loungers and watch the sunset :) Had a pretty good meal in the main restaurant too - there's also an Arabic restaurant on site, but we didn't get time to try that in the end.

Nice hotel but quite isolatedPosted Mar 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
I liked the Langkawi Lagoon Resort because it isn't big, is cosy and has a private beach and a view to die for. Its location is one of the downsides, as it doesn't provide easy access to other parts of the island without getting a taxi. I found the welcoming very poor as I was made to sit by the check-in desk for 30 minutes until I got assigned a room. Fair enough, their check-in time apparently isn't before 3pm, but surely they shouldn't expect people to hang about in 34°C from the time of arrival till 3pm. I also found unacceptable the lack of airconditioning on the premises of the hotel, except in the rooms. There are two restaurants, one offering Arabic food and one offering international food. I didn't attend the Arabic restaurant, I found it too intimidating as 95% of the hotel guests were Arabic couples, the ladies donning a full hijab. The same applies for lying by the pool or the beach, even if I got over it after a day. All in all, it's a decent hotel, but it can do a lot more to improve its services.

You can get much better value for money elsewherePosted Mar 26, 2013
Pros: The sea view and the pool
Cons: Decor and general condition of the building.
Location: Not a bad location if you want peace and quiet.
No information provided by the hotel on its services and opening times of the pool, restaurants and bars. Sheets and divet were stained. Furniture and decor very tired. Beware, check in is from 3pm, this does not necessarily mean your room will be ready at 3pm. We had to wait until 4pm, when I came down at 6pm there were still people waiting for their rooms. Very poor value for money. Stay at the Sheraton if you can - it's almost the same price!

On your advert it's near sea but there is no water n if water thn jelly fish, u shouldn't advertise like its near sea, If your hotel in a remote area like this then you should provide a shuttle service at least twice a day to nearest town, You provide wi-fi in lounge but there is no air condition When you recommend restaurant like Arabic you should check the food quality aswell, it's totally low class restaurant
