Very interesting hotel design and position, can be recommended to honeymoon trip. very close to cable car and water fall.

“Amazing stay!!”

Amazingling beatuful resort located next to the beach and 1km from oriental Village and Gondolas. Almost eveything you need is at this resort - restaurants, bar/cafe on the beach, water sports activities, shop and tour information desk. This is not a major negative but we felt that the rooms and some amneities could do with an upgrade. But in saying that we were still very happy with this resort and do recommend it. We travelled through Asia for a month and it was by far the nest reort we stayed at. Also the tour desk staff did not seem to have much of a clue about the information they supplied (perhaps just the person we dealt with).

“Mutiaria Beach Resort”

Great hotel right on the beach with lovely pool. Nice buffet breakfast with choice for everyone. Rooms a bit basic but clean and adequate, they are all in the rainforest by the beach with monkeys running around.

“Langkawi, April 2012”

The grounds of this hotel are really nice and you can see the monkeys who come down from the trees right next to the chalets and the pool area. Our chalet was a little run down but comfortable and clean.The Seashell restaurant serves excellent local and western food - a little more expensive than the rest of Malaysia, but worth the extra.

“Nice common area, cheap rooms with no Wifi”

The lobby and common areas were fine, but the room was kinda cheap and ants were a problem in bed, also, no internet in the room. Generally not worth the money.

“Great location but needs some serious maintenance”

We were staying at the Mutiara for a week. The first room allocated was aweful - aircon didn't work correctly, wallpaper peeling off, room was dirty. After complaining we were offered a seaview cabana or a Villa room. We turned the cabana down because it stank of urine. The Villa room was OK if you didn't mind the peeling wallpaper again!! At least it was clean. The major plus point with this hotel is its location. Burau Bay is beautiful and the beach at Mutiara Resort is idyllic - if you want a beach holiday, you would find it hard to better this. Access is limited to Mutiara and Berjaya residents and compared to the beach at Cenang it is unspoilt and totally uncommercial. There were plenty of sunbeds and shade was easily found beneath the trees. A 10 minute walk gets you to the Langkawi Cablecar - well worth a visit. The breakfast buffet at the Mutiara was good - european and malay dishes with plenty of choice and of good quality. The same applies to the evening buffet - a la carte also available. We were very disappointed with the hirecar ordered through the hotel which turned out to be an absolute wreck. We refused this and had to wait 30 minutes for a replacement. It would have been better and cheaper to get a car from the company at the Hotel entrance. Next door to this, a malay restaurant provides good cheap food although you may have to wait a while because of the many hotel guests using it. To sum up - great location - hotel frayed around the edges!

“Not Impressed”

Very little English spoken at front desk, online request for a room for four wasn't honoured until we arrived and pushed for it. Food wasn't up to par. The pool was big and clean and beach access good but service was lacking throughout. Was glad we'd only booked one night.
