Beautiful and quiet location

Posted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: staff brilliant. food excellent, although I found the buffet breakfast not as good as other Westin hotels I have used. views from hotel were stunning
Cons: Pool bar menu was a bit restricted
Location: Location excellent, nearby not so good and too far to walk to other restaurants.
The hotel was excellent but it was very quiet as a lot of Middle Eastern patrons arrived who did not frequent the bars or restaurants and did not, the women anyway, partake of the facilities such as the swimming pool and beach, so would not go there at this time of year again.

Nice hotel with many options and a great view

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: Very friendly staff, great outside bar, great pools
Cons: Room had some issues with air conditioning not working but it was addressed.
Location: Location is about 25 minutes from airport, 20 minutes from great golf course, and a great place to eat called Haji Ali
Great location and lots of things to do. The infinity pool is great and swim up bar optimal. :)

Nice hotel on the beach

Posted Aug 2, 2014
Location: Not a lot to do nearby.
Good standard hotel on the beach. Unfortunately the beach was not suitable for swimming. Good breakfasts. Rather isolated hotel so had to hire a car to see the island. Felt a bit fleeced after paying MYR29 - nearly £6 for bottled water - as much as a cocktail at the bar!. Good environmentally friendly scheme in place - don't use housekeeping and you get a voucher to spend in the hotel.

Family stay at Westin Langkawi - 4 days

Posted Jul 29, 2014
We had a lovely time. The hotel facilities are great, with 4 pools for variety through out the day. Easy to book tours for travel around the island and an easy walk down to the pier area. Spa facility is amazing and definitely a must for visitors. Kids club is simple, but entertaining enough for while parents are relaxing :) We ate at the hotel each night and plenty of variety and sitting locations to feel like you are out and about. Breakfast buffet is a highlight!

Very beautify hotel, near beach, nice swimmingpool

Posted Jul 24, 2014
Pros: I like to stay at beach resort
Cons: Maybe have free Wi-Fi in room will be the best.
Location: From Westin Hotel we walk to Yatch club, passby Harbour to Eargle Square, a garden park than to Kuah Twon (night market), after that take a taxi back.
We like this hotel very much, staff are friendly and helpful, near to Eargle Square and Kuah Town, if I back to Langkawi for holiday, will stay at this hotel again.

Nice pool, lovely lobby lounge.

Posted Jul 4, 2014
Pros: Good buffet breakfast, cocktails (Long Island Iced Tea) at Breeze Lounge, nice infinity pool, refurbished rooms that were spacious, Heavenly Bed.
Cons: Little maintenance and soft skill issues visible, but staff always were trying.
Location: There's not much to do in Kuah (nearest town), from the POV of a local Malaysian. You're better off just staying at the Westin.
Checked in here for a mini-break and found myself surprisingly rejuvenated although it was just a 3 day stay. I recommend going in low season (which apparently is between April-August) and avoiding school holidays. This way, you can really enjoy the pool, and the slightly provincial quiet of Langkawi. For a KL-ite, this is a perfect getaway for a solo trip or with friends (friends of course, make the duty free booze more enjoyable).
