“good for a group”

It was ok value for the money, but maybe not the place for the older solo traveller. First impressions were poor, it looks really run down and is not near anything, just on the main road to Kuah and when I got into my room it stunk of smoke. However on further inspection it was clean and everything worked - air con, fridge, kettle, shower etc. After deciding to stay I spoke to the receptionist who put me in touch with a cheap car hire - 50 RM a day which meant I could explore the island at will with a good base (you can hire mbikes which are cheaper). The breakfast was ok, better during the week when its not so busy and they cook to order. Expect lots of cats around the place and take some defense against mosquitos at night. On the whole it was a lot better than expected at first.
