“Needs a Facelift”

This is a convenient place and a fun layout but it's time for some new mattresses and some paint. The staff, however, has always been helpful and pleasant.

The room was very clean and spacious. Very convenient to MSU campus and conference locations. The desk staff were very helpful and pleasant.

“Would stay again.”

Stayed overnite with my son for a visit to Michigan State. Conveniently located, friendly staff, clean room and comfortable queen studio suite with sofa bed. Breakfast was included but we slept in due to our late evening arrival. Had breakfast at IHOP just a short drive away. Would stay again.

“Please Stay Here!”

My daughter and I went to Lansing so my daughter could interview for a Graduate program at Michigan State. I spent most of my time in my room, it was like being at home. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. It felt like home. If my daughter goes to school here, we will definitely go back.

I would recommend any neighborhood with in this city for travelers. The area is clean and the people are very friendly

“Great room for the price”

This was formerly a Residence Inn and has not been updated. It has a full kitchen as well as a dining and living area with fireplace. The bed was comfortable. They were very helpful letting us stay an hour later to attend a funeral nearby. It included breakfast, but went to friends so do not know what it was like. It did not have a book in the room with info about the site. I would definitely stay here again as the price was great for a room with this many amenities.

“Just what we wanted”

We were looking for a place close to the MSU campus. This was within a mile of the heart of campus. The "Skyline Suite" amply met the needs of three of us. Service was friendly. The breakfast in the morning was a bit dull but it was there and well attended by staff.

There does not appear to be any upscale dining in East Lansing--at least none that we could find. No reason to dress up.

Great place! Very roomy and fantastic for family or 2 couples! Complete kitchen really saves money!

“Fix the hot water”

The Gatehouse Inn has very nice rooms but they need to fix their hot water problem. My room had NO hot water! I did not discover this until I went to take a shower in the morning. There was plenty of cold water but when you turned the handle to hot no water came out or either the shower or the sink. I called down to the desk and was told that they had been having trouble with the water heaters and should wait a bit until other completed their showers. WHAT!!! Finally, I had to go down in my pajamas and obtain a key for another room to be able to shower. By the time all of this had transpired we had missed the breakfast. Expedia was very helpful in assisting with this problem when I called them. The agent did his best to help and got me a partial refund. Bottom line, before you stay here check and make sure they have fixed their water heater problems.

Meridian mall just down the street. Plenty of shopping to be had.
