“Beware of Gamedays”
We have stayed at this hotel during football season in the past and have had a fine time. However, during our last stay it was also used as the visiting team's hotel. The hotel did not provide us with this information prior to our arrival and as a result we were unable to check in prior to heading to the football game. We have experienced this before at other hotels in the East Lansing area; however, every other time the hotel sent us a letter prior to our arrival that an "event" was going on in the area and we would not be able to check in until later in the evening. As we travel from Chicago this allowed us to plan accordingly that we would not be able to freshen up before heading to the game. The hotel staff was not interested in the suggestion of telling guests prior to their arrival that if a football team was staying at the hotel that they would not be able to check in at the time posted on the hotel's website. A little forwarning that we would not be able to check in until later that evening was all we were looking for. We would have been able to adjust our plans accordingly. Additionally, once we we could actually check into the hotel, the room type that we had booked was no longer available and we were forced to settle for less appealing room at the same price.
“Pleasantly pleased, will always stay while in Lansing”
When I checked into the hotel my room was currently unmaintained from the previous Guest. The customer service was absolutely impeccable in dealing with the issue. The woman at the desk was so nice and so over-the-top apologetic that it would be impossible to be disappointed. She gave us a room to wait in and then call this in the room to ask if we would like a beverage while we waited. She also gave us access to a floor that had breakfast provided for the next two days. It was very kind and greatly appreciated. In general the hotel is in great shape and we enjoyed our stay. Every one of the staff was so kind. I was very impressed. Based on the ratings I wasn't so sure, but I will stay at the Lexington every time I'm in Lansing from here forward. It's by far the best hotel stay I have had in Lansing. We ate at the Hotel restaurant as well, which was also very good. The Cajun ribeye was cooked perfectly and the crème brûlée was the icing on the cake. All in all a great stay, no complaints.
“Undecided”
When I arrived around midnight, my expedia reservation was not found in the computer, but luckily they found it in the back office & were able to get me registered. The staff were very personable & that is the main reason I would stay again at this hotel. The other reason I would stay again at the Lexington, is the convenience to the work colleague who drives me to the various meetings I had in the Lansing area. My room was okay, however I was surprised after working all day to come back & my room had not been "freshened" by the cleaning staff. I travel quite a bit for work & spend many nights in hotels and I have come to anticipate coming back to my bed being made and the bathroom refreshed with shampoo/lotions as well as fresh towels if needed.

Our son stayed down down at a hotel at twice the price but came to ours and said he would be staying there in the future...
“Needs updating”
This hotel didn't have any type of business services. My husband needed to scan some documents and email to his office back home and no one really knew how to do this. Someone from behind the desk finally scanned to his own email address and sent to my husband. This hotel is pretty old and though it had been updated - not everything was updated. The dressers were probably over 20 years old, there were not enough outlets in the bathroom and no vent fan. This wouldn't be our first choice should we ever return to this area.
