Basic but clean & a decent location.Posted Nov 18, 2013
Pros: cheap, location, always hot water
Cons: Mattresses on sun loungers, it all could do with a makeover but is cheap and cheerful
Location: close to the beach and numerous bars and restaurants and 30 mins walk up the road even more bars and restaurants
The apartments are clean and basic, they are in a good location, 5 mins from the beach and a few other bars and restaurants and 30 mins walk to the main strip . Taxis are under 3 euros. There are 4 pools but the beds are very hard we ended up taking the blankets from the room to lay on. Our room had two bedrooms with ample storage space and lounge diner. There was a fridge and two ring hob kettle and a few bare essentials for utensils but then we don't go away to cook ! the fridge was all we needed.

Clean, large, airy comfortable apartmentsPosted Oct 19, 2013
Pros: Cleanliness, location, nothing to dislike.
Cons: Had I wanted to cook on this holiday, I would have liked an oven/grill.
Location: Fantastic location, plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Entertainment in area is limited but plenty for my needs.
stayed self catering only, apartment was clean, large and airy. Beds were very comfortable, large balcony. Situated very close to beach and restaurants, shops etc. Bus stop also very near to hotel. location excellent and on flat ground.

Ideal for all on a budgetPosted Dec 13, 2012
Pros: Clean, comfortable, friendly and pretty good value for money.
Cons: Drinking out of a plastic beaker as part of the all-inclusive tariff system and the "dodgem car" nature of the self service area in the restaurant
Location: Close to airport, local shops and bars, bus service and beach. What more could you want?
As a solo male pensioner wanting a cheap week in the winter sun I found this hotel ideal. It was close to the airport (10 minutes by cab) and a short walk from a very large/clean beach. Ideal to walk off any meal. I did not want to cook for myself so opted for the all-inclusive package. That was a mistake because it results in a definite tightening of the belt after a week of a plentiful variety and amount of tasty food three times a day plus all the drink you can imbibe. On reflection half board would have been more than sufficient since there was a free snack bar in the pool bar during the day. I found all the staff friendly and helpful; the only drawback/precaution being that you had to leave a personal item on the table to ensure it wasn't cleared between courses and other people in residence as the staff were somewhat over eager in clearing the dirties! This reflected the cleanliness of the hotel overall - no mess anywhere. The guests were mainly pensioners with just a sprinkling of families/younger people. There was a programme of entertainment for all ages all day plus a games room/creche for youngsters. On the down side the restaurant is two rather large noisy back to back halls so not ideal for an intimate meal for two ; the English speaking channels on TV are very limited and my room safe was not large enough to take an Ipad. Though having said that I was assured that crime on the island is negligible. There were good access facilities for the disabled.

Advantages of the Don Paco CastillaPosted May 1, 2012
Pros: Friendliness, open space, no high-rise buildings, attractive volcanic gardens and view.
Cons: No mirror in the main room and pillows were hard
Location: Very suitable for kids, especially the beach. Good resturants to either side of the hotel
As customers returning for the third time, we received a courtesy bottle of wine. It was good to see the same faces amongst the staff. This hotel has plenty of space. With five swimming pools to chose from. Some maintainence is required but everything works and this venue gives you the daily choice of self-catering (hot rings only) or board. Staff do not bother you or rush your check out. Journey time from the airport by taxi (12 euros - takes ten minutes) Aircraft are not heard from hotel/beach A pity that there is no bus to the airport as bus service generally is excellent. We find this hotel to be very convenient, placed at the quiet end of the large sandy beach.
