“Villas Costa Papagayo - A Relaxing Stay”

We stayed at the Villas Costa Papagayo for a week over the New Years Eve period 2007 - 08. I was initially worried that as a couple we would be surrounded by families with lots of kids and possibly not have a 'quiet' relaxing holiday. However, we found our villa to be quite private, and while there were plenty of families staying at the complex everybody had their own space and pool and you never felt overlooked by anyone. The villa contained everything we needed, cook ware, washing machine, iron and board, towels, it was like having our own little holiday home in Lanzarote. This was probably a fairly quiet time of the year for Lanzarote, and having driven around the island and checked out most of the towns I would say Playa Blanca was definitely the least touristy, however you can see the development within the area and it won't take long before it becomes another Playa del Carmen. I am so relieved we decided to go with the villa option and not stay at a hotel, frankly I can't imagine why anyone would!
