Disappointed,but close to the beach.Posted Sep 26, 2013
Pros: We liked it's location, and it's close proximity to the beach and local bars/shops
Cons: A complete refurbishment of the rooms, and some soundproofing of the entertainment area
Location: Lovely quiet beach with sun beds, and great local bars/cafes and shops
We booked this hotel because it had great had reviews and was rated as 4star. The reception staff were very helpful and polite, however the service provided in the restaurant was poor. We had to wait for the table to be laid everyday before being able to eat our food. It was also very noisy around the pool area with loud music being played from big speakers that were placed next to the sun beds, so if you wanted a relaxing day by the pool this is not the hotel for you. The room was showing signs of age and we had cracked tiles on opposite sides of the bathroom walls, and the paint on the balcony was peeling off. If you want an early night, forget it, as the noise from the entertainment fills your room until midnight.

OK hotel, but 4* is an overstatementPosted Sep 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
La Geria is a 4* hotel located just in front of the Los Pocillos beach (near Puerto del Carmen). Rooms have a view to the large swimming pool area and to the adjacent beach (you will probably need a room on the 3rd or 4th floors). Staff was always very nice and helpful. Location is good - close to the beach, short drive to the airport. Hotel is OK, although a bit rundown. Breakfast is plentiful, but quality is not fantastic. Wi-Fi is paid, although you have 30 minutes free per day, per device. We found that all the resort-type activities, such as loud karaoke and performances at midnight, to be quite annoying - but we may be outliers here. 4* seems a bit overstated for this hotel, although we had a good stay.

Gentlemen ... Don't forget your trousers!Posted Aug 7, 2013
Pros: Food, friendly staff (cleaners, bar, restaurant, animacion, reception ... everyone!) Close to airport
Cons: Unequal dress policy for evening meals
Location: Great! Far enough out of Puerto del Carmen to be quiet, near enough for a different night out. Huge beach (although a little too windy)
The only disappointment was not knowing about the 'gentlemen must wear trousers for evening meal' rule. I had travelled in jeans and had only packed tailored shorts for evening use. So for 10 nights I had to go to the meal in my jeans and then change into shorts for the bar area. I don't have a problem with the rule apart from two things (1) It was not advertised anywhere I can find on the web-site or at the time of booking, (2) women could wear whatever they chose ... shorts (the same as mine), short shorts that left little to the imagination, vest tops. Odd ones even looked like they had come from the pool. I'm sure the EU will have a 'equality' ruling on this somewhere! Come on La Geria - sort it out for both sexes? I don't want this comment to put off any travellers. I was the best hotel i have stayed in. ALL the staff went out of their way to help you. Excellent pool. Even better food. Room a little cramped for three but there again you dont spend much time in it anyway. 12 euro taxi from airport.

A good choice in a nice locationPosted Jul 26, 2013
Pros: The meals
Hotel is located is located about four kms from the centre of Puerto del Carmen, but close to shops and restaurants heading in the direction of the airport. The room was clean, and was quiet once the entertainment in the evening finished at about 11.30. The breakfast and evening meals had a very good choice, which varied from day to day. The food is laid out over a large area and is on a self-service basis. The swimming pool area was quite busy during the day but seemed to have enough room for everyone who wanted to be there. Plenty of room for parking at the front, and a car is worthwhile to go round the island at your own leisure.

Great hotelPosted Apr 7, 2013
Excellent hotel in great location. Food was of a very high standard, hotel was very clean, staff great. The only things that let it down was the poor a/c in the rooms and the fact that you have to sit in a tiny area of the reception to get a wifi signal.

Very comfortable and clean. We booked as half board and the evening meal was fantastic. Very reasonable price for all inclusive.

Hotel La GeriaPosted Nov 27, 2012
Pros: The Location and clenliness of the hotel were both excellent!
Cons: Pool bar service was not the best! Be prepared to waite to get served!
Location: Excellent location about 10 mins from the main strip, 2mins walk to a nice selection of bars and Restaraunts. Beach bang opposit the hotel
I would use this hotel again with no hesitation. the location and the clenliness were both first class. All rooms on the top 2 floors seem to benifit from a sea view with no extra cost ,just request a room up on the high floors and you should be fine. We only stopped Bed & Breakfast but the food offering in the morning was excellent plenty of choice both Hot and cold dishes were readerly available. Catch the local bus to town from out side the hotel Less then 2 Euroes to go right down the front to the Old Town Recommended just to get your barings Book in here with confidance and enjoy!!
