Nice hotel shame about the renovationsPosted Nov 3, 2013
Pros: pool area looked nice on the 1st but once renovation began it was a no go area
Cons: notification prior to travel of any renovation
Although I didn’t expect4/5 star accommodation for the price I did expect a decent standard based on the reviews I had seen. On arrival we were directed to our bungalow and although more basic than expected it was satisfactory The following day extensive renovation of the pool area began which involved: Removal of parasol covers from 70% of the pool area leaving only a few parasols in use. – With the amount of study and press given to the effects of long term exposure to skin I found this ridiculous that they could remove so many parasols and essentially put people’s health at risk. Removal of the parasol cover involved the intermittent thrashing of a metal hammer against a metal parasol – Following this, work then began on the sanding of old paintwork from the parasol stands – this not only created an additional racket in what should have been a peaceful poolside area, but also meant that dust generated from the sanding of the metal stand was blowing across the pool area. The health & safely of the persons carrying out the work was not in jeopardy, as they were wearing the appropriate dust masks , it was the innocent pool-bystander trying to enjoy their long awaited holiday that had to endure the airborne dust and debris. Painting of parasol stands – this brought additional stench of intoxicating metal paint Power tools and cables lying around the pool area

Quiet, peaceful, clean with a great poolPosted Oct 27, 2013
Pros: Clean good facilities and service. Self catering works very well for us.
Cons: Rooms are a little dated but I see that refurbishment has begun.
Location: Close to the beach. 20 minute walk into Playa Blanca. 10 minute walk to bars and restaurants. Water park is a 10 minute walk.
Peaceful setting close to the beach and only a 20 minute walk into Playa Blanca. Sorry to hear that the hotel will be changing to all inclusive only from November. Self catering gives so much more flexibility.

very good value for moneyPosted Oct 25, 2013
Pros: see above
Cons: see above
Location: If you are going to Lanzarote go to Playa Blanca so much nicer than Porto Del Carmen unless your thing is tacky bars etc.
Have stayed here twice now and think the location, pool and attractive setting is hard to beat. I also like the quiet surroundings and lack of loud music and stupid pool games that many complexes feel they have to provide. There are only two things that let it down and that is the tired kitchen and bathroom areas in the bungalows, a bit of money spent here would mean the complex is faultless but then would probably cost more - swings & roundabouts. I will definitely go back.

Somewhat DisappointingPosted Sep 11, 2013
Pros: Quiet location. Free wi-fi adjacent to reception but slowwwwww. House keeping very efficient indeed, cleaning and towel changing every 2 days.
Cons: A decent attempt at re-furb and installation of air-con or at least a ceiling fan. Apartments are oppressively hot and stuffy, be warned!
Location: Most of my time spent strolling around. Look out for Popeye's Bar just before Playa Blanca. Cheap beer, good food, sport tv and mega friendly staff.
I fully agree with the principle of 'you get what you pay for' but, frankly, I've paid the same or less for much better. The Bungalows are extremely tired and basic. Patio doors are double-paned with most of the internal panels broken and hanging loose. I checked and it was not just my Bungalow suffering this eyesore. All Apartments seem to have an 8' square courtyard at the rear surrounded by an 8' wall which doesn't seem to serve any purpose except to block any possible views of the mountains. Beds quite uncomfortable but typical of a lot of European beds. A quiet complex which suited me. As previously mentioned, 10 minutes scenic stroll will bring you to Playa Flamingo with nice beach, 2 fairly decent Supermarkets and 2 or 3 eating establishments. 15 minutes more and you reach Playa Blanca with the usual array of facilities. It would be wrong to comment on food, bar etc. as I didn't use the facilities. The pool area seemed quite pleasant and popular. It maybe the change to all-inclusive is in order to negate the need to re-furbish the extremely limited current self-catering facilities within the rooms. I had a microwave designed by the ancient Egyptians and little else of use. Take a travel kettle in order to avoid having to hire a basic piece of self-catering equipment. I wish the Complex luck in its new venture but the quality of all-inclusive catering will have to be pretty impressive in order to compensate for the disappointing accommodation.

very good-but could be betterPosted Mar 26, 2013
Pros: See above
Cons: The beds!!!!!!!!!
Location: See above
The complex itself was very good. The pools were clean and the staff were very obliging and understanding. However, our bungalow was very 'tired.' There were loose doors and curtain fittings in the living room. The beds were very uncomfortable, where mine actually had a board positioned under the mattress as the mattress itself was completely knackered. Hot water run out after one of us had had a shower. Thankfully the weather was very warm so a cooler shower was not the end of the world! The complex was some 30 minutes walk along a lovely traffic-free path along the seafront into the centre of Playa which was brilliant.

Great value for money hotelPosted Mar 22, 2013
Pros: Pool, gardens and bungalow
Location: Great location, just 5 mins from Playa Blanca centre
I loved the set up of these bungalows, offering quiet privacy amongst the well kept gardens. The room had everything we needed, except perhaps a kettle, and the staff cleaned the room regulary and were friendly and helpful. The pool area was a great place to relax and read. I would definately recommend it as a nice, peacful place to stay, it is excellent value for money.

Dedicated helpful staff make all the difference..Posted Mar 9, 2013
Pros: Located well in beautifully maintained gardens
Cons: bungalows are in need of refurbishment
Location: The coastal walk from the bungalows to Playa Blanca and beyond is lovely.
Just back from a week staying at Atlantic Gardens and the clean, tidy bungalows, although basic, suited us and proved good value. Pleasant location with a lovely coastal walk to Playa Blanca and beyond .The reception staff were most helpful particularly when our taxi failed to pick us up for our flight home and they went beyond the call of duty to resolve the problem for us - we are most grateful and will certainly return to Atlantic Gardens and recommend to our friends.

Great hotel for a young familyPosted Mar 3, 2013
Pros: Location, amenities, ease with which you get to sea, beaches, shops. V nice walkway along front of sea that goes on for miles either way.
Cons: Can't think of anything at all.
Location: Superb. Quiet, but close to everything. What more could you want. With a toddler, just the right distance to restaurants etc.
We were a couple with a 4 year old child. This place was exactly right for us. You can easily walk to the promenade for restaurants or beach. Or you can stay in and self-cater. On the site you have a very nice little cafe/restaurant and a small supermarket so all you need is available there. We played with your 4 year old boy mini-golf, swimming, table-tennis, snooker. He loved all of them. You can get to the sea v easily. You can hire a car easily and go off/sea the island. The bungalows themselves are clean and tidy, all you need, and they offer a good deal of privacy if you want it. We wanted a quiet-ish holiday in which we could engage and socialise if we wanted to, but not if we didn't! This was perfedt for that. We would certainly go again to this hotel/location.
