Would go backPosted May 14, 2013
Pros: Staff and food were excellent
Cons: Lack of toilets at restaurant and main bar and hard beds
Location: Location was fab a short walk to shops, restaurants, bars and beach
Great hotel Free safe in room Free tv and english channels in room for movies, news, kids programs and documentaries Lunch and Dinner was excellent, partner is a fussy eater so was very happy with hamburgers, pizza and cooked meat with sauce Breakfast was good lots of choice but not Full English Bacon, English sausages and hash browns would of been nice Room bed were a little hard and had sore back and neck if it had been any hotter would have needed aircon instead of ceiling fan in the bedroom In restaurant and bar there are areas you can help yourself to hot drinks, soft drinks, beer and wine could do with more toilets in these areas though only 2 toilets at the reception area.

Excellent value for moneyPosted May 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
Other than one VERY frosty receptionist we found all the staff very cheerful and helpful. The all inclusive had a good choice of food, the apartments are certainly adequate, a kettle would be nice!! Overall very good value for money we would not hesitate to stay there again.

Not the usual RiuPosted Apr 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
I was very disappointed - I have stayed in Rius previously and booked the room based on my other experiences. The room reeked of cigarettes. The internet was avail only in the lobby and, even though we had to pay for it, was intermittently reliable at best. The tv was old and tiny. The furnishings meager. The food was good and the bed was comfortable but, all else was old and outdated.

No Atmosphere Rather Regimented But Clean HotelPosted Apr 23, 2013
Pros: Spotlessly Clean Very Friendly Staff
Cons: Only 1 Toilet other than in your Room for the Whole of the Site. None around the Pool Bar or Dining Areas , which could pose a Problem in high Season
Location: Location is very close to the Beach and Bars and Shops , Ten minute Taxi drive from the Airport
We stayed at the Rui Olivina Hotel between the 7th and 18TH April for 11 Nights.the hotel was.spotlessly clean warm friendly staff who speak German more than English . Being as the Rui is a German Chain of Hotels and Thompson who are one of the Major Tour Operators are Also German this Hotel is more geared up to suit German tourists.the food was of good quality but suits the German palate rather than the British and came be quite repetitive. The. entertainment was very poor and there was not much of a HOLIDAY atmosphere at this Resort .There are 2 Bars 1 by the Apartments POOL WHICH CLOSES AT 6pm every night and the main Bar which closes at Midnight Sharp every night there's no chance of a late drink which Holidaymakers surely want . This Hotel seems more suited to Families with very young Children or the More Mature Age Group .There is very very little to do on this Site unless you just want to suit by a Pool or read . Another Point for Consideration is that if you are in the Apartments ALL FOOD AND SNACKS ARE OVER AT THE MAIN SITE . Snacks that are listed for the afternoon comprises of Mostly Sponge Cakes , Ice Cream or Fruit . No Savoury Snacks Whatsoever. One Important Point is Gentlemen MUST Wear Long Trousers or JEANS when Dining in the Evening every Night or No Dinner as your not allowed to eat in the evening outside of the Dining Area .Things seem rather Regimented Especially as we saw people being asked to move from tables they wanted to sit on

first class hotel with all the amenities we neededPosted Feb 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was clean, the staff friendly, the food and amenities just right and a great location with good surroundings. We can definitely recommend this hotel with its three pools and well laid out sunbeds with nightly entertainment. Food was good with a selection of fish and meat dishes with soups and salads and nice deserts. Will return

great hotel for all agesPosted Feb 18, 2013
Pros: location, food and friendliness
Cons: the general condition of the bungalow
Location: ideally situated in puerto carmen, wonderful for shops, restaurants and beaches
The main hotel was excellent and the food considering it was all inclusive was of excellent quality, food was always hot and a lot freshly cooked as you were there, drinks were of a good standard. My only quibble was the bungalow we stayed in, it came with kitchen etc, it was very clean but the furniture, tiles and rooms in general were very tired and obviously in need of new decor very soon. The rooms in the actual hotel were far superior. The hotel is very geared up for the disabled and would not restrict anyone from having a good time, in the pool was accessible.

Great value holiday!Posted Feb 10, 2013
Pros: The breakfast, the pools and the grounds
Cons: Drab decor of the apartment
we stayed in one of the apartments attached in the grounds of the hotel which were 3 star as opposed to the hotel rooms which were 4 star. The grounds were very well kept and impressive. We were all inclusive which included all drinks and buffet style meals. The meals were really nice, but tended to be a variation on a theme, so after 3 days you knew more or less what you were getting. The trick is to be creative yourself with what was on offer! The apartment itself was rather dated and dull (80's) but clean and comfortable but would have benefitted from a makeover! Puerto del Carmen itself is a very nice resort, lovely beaches and plenty of shops and Cafes very near to the hotel and prices very affordable. There was a good bus service to Arricife, and we took a taxi from the airport which was near and cost about £10. Overall for value etc. I would definitely recommend it.

Short early stay in December 2012Posted Dec 26, 2012
Staff always smiling and would try their utmost to accommodate any request when possible. Found the selection of food to be very good. Plenty of salads and fresh cooked options. Rooms cleaned every day. Cannot comment on the apartments as we stayed in the main hotel. Would return.
