“Jewel of the Canaries”

The Sandos Papagayo Arena allowed myself, husband and the rest of our family (12 in total) to experience an amazing week in Lanzarote. From the moment you arrive it is evident that the staff are friendly and willing to help you in any manner necessary. The rooms were well layed out, clean and very spacious.In fact the whole hotel was extremely clean with staff constantly cleaning, sweeping and polishing the entire hotel. All age ranges in our party were happy with the daytime and night time entertainment which was particularly good with a 14 month, 3 and 6 year old with us. The food was well varied allowing you to eat wherever and whenever you chose. The selection at the international buffet was amazing with "live" cooking stations offering fresh grilled or roasted meat while the option to book into the chinese restaurant should not be missed. The surrounding location is very peaceful with a beautiful marina (and market twice weekly) just a short stroll away. All in all the hotel cannot be recommended enough and I would not hestitate to book another holiday there 5*

“Excellent all inclusive hotel”

We stayed at this hotel in March 2006, although there was some building work going on in the immediate vicinity, as soon as we got into the hotel we were completely unaware of it. The room was excellent - very spacious and clean with a fatntastic view over to Fuerteventura. The standard of food in the main restaurant and Chinese was very good - although if staying for more than a week it might become a bit repetitive. The Italian had very limited choice. The range of alcoholic drinks included in the package was also good - beer, wine, rum, brandy, etc. Probably the only drawback was the distance from Playa Blanca. There is a courtesy bus from the hotel, but it doesn't run that often and it doesn't go right into the centre of Playa Blanca. For the more active, a pleasant 45 minute walk along a coastal path will take you there. If you have a car - then it's only a 5 minute drive. I'd certainly go back again and would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone else.

“Excellent family hotel”

Great hotel if you have kids. There's lots for them to do. Nice service, nearly always with a smile. I was very impressed with the quality and variety of the breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Chinese restaurant was the only disappointment. Nice views from our room of the little beach and Fuerteventura in the distance.

Fantastic hotel, great (and unlimited) food and alcohol, clean spacious rooms, great activities and things to do, near some nice beaches. Well recommended!!

“Visiting for the 2nd time this year.”

It will be very difficult to go anywhere else after visiting this hotel. The service is good, the food is good and the hotel had everything we were looking for. A very enjoyable holiday. Marvellous.

“excellent for the money”

Good room and excellent food. Lovely 3 pools. Location lovely and quiet but unable to use the beach so therefore a very long walk to Playa Blanca. 45mins to 1hour. Free bus though. Another beach near by but nothing there. A lovely marina about half an hours walk. Excellent all inclusive deal though most of the time we had to queue at the bars. Entertainment very poor, but overall a lovely hotel and I would recommend it.

“Brilliant views from hotel”

Hotel itself is very clean and the layout allows for spectaular sea views from most of the room. All staff very friendly. Food is ok, you wont starve but was dissapointed with international buffet selection. Italian resturant however is very good espically the freshly made italinan pizzas. The oriental resturant was the worst not a lot of selection/variety so wouldn't bother booking. Always found it easy to find a sunbed after breakfast every day no need to reserve one as hotel had plenty all with shade if you wanted it. overall very nice hotel and would return if the price was right.

“Great hotel apart from the cats and the rude man in the gift shop”

The first time my wife and i had gone "all-incluisive" and there were no complaints. The hotel was very clean and we found all the staff (especially the reception staff) to be very friendly and extremely helpful. The only reason they will not get a 5 rating overall is down to the number cats roaming the arena and a very rude man working in the gift shop near the main lobby. Unforuntaely i had to buy my newspaper from him and change was always thrown back at me without even a please or a thank you. Complete contrast to the other staff in the hoel who were delighful. Great hotel for all ages, but not those who don't like cats!!!

“Well worth visiting.”

Booked this hotel via Expedia and stayed at for 10 days from Dec 18. Had a problem with soiled bedding but when we reported it, it was promptly sorted out by the Head of Housekeeping -Ramona Manrique-and room was cleaned and bedding changed every day. Thanks Ramona. Hotel should consider making the use of iron & Ironing board available for free in rooms. Went all-inclusive and was pleased with the quality of the food. The only thing was the variety, especially of the breakfasts, could be more varied. It was good to have access to microwave ovends for those wanting to make their meals hotter. Location was ideal, right by the sea, quiet and relaxing, and enabled us to walk to local shopping areas. Felt very safe. Reception staff could be friendlier. Restaurant staff was excellent and credit to the waiters who were professional and cleared the tables promptly day after day. Table cloths & cutlery were clean. Restaurant was decorated superbly on Christmas Day and the food was excellent. Thanks for an enjoyable stay!
