Food very nice and in a very clean environment.

Only bad point not much outside hotel but with the all inclusive you don't need to leave hotel. Worth the extra for the upgrade to Royal Elite.

Lovely views

Posted Jan 16, 2015
Pros: The rooms were a good size, staff were always cleaning and lovely views
Cons: An indoor pool for the colder months would be fab and intenet in the rooms.
Location: Nice walk to the local town but a bit of a hike with kids so making use of the free bus they provide is worth it. Lovely harbour too.
We upgraded to the elite package and loved it but we only went for a few days as a treat, as a normal family holiday I probably wouldn't of bothered as the main benefit was branded alcoholic drinks and a comfy lounge. Going in January although hot it was very windy and so sitting by the pool wasn't really an option.

Hotel con vistas

Posted Dec 21, 2014
Pros: Cercanía Costa Papagayo, no hace falta coche.

Great Location and Good Standard of Food for AI

Posted Dec 8, 2014
Pros: The location is excellent, out of town but close to the nicest beaches. The Royal Elite programme includes international brand drinks and self-service
Cons: The rooms could use slightly comfier beds and much better toiletries/ touches
Location: Hotel is right next to Papagayo beaches and a short but very lovely stroll to Rubicon Marina and then into Playa Blanca. About €6 if you need a taxi.
This was our second stay at this hotel. There had been some changes since we last visited regarding the bars and Royal Elite areas. I had chosen the Royal Elite option but would have been disappointed if I hadn't as the bar we had enjoyed the most previously was now only for Royal Elite guests. We enjoyed a good standard of service, food and a great location.

tres agreable

Posted Dec 2, 2014

Fantastic place to stay

Posted Nov 26, 2014
Pros: The food, the rooms, the facilities, proximity to the sea.
Cons: Not a lot
Location: Quite cut off - no idea what there is to do nearby
Faultless hotel - it is colossal but extremely well-run, spotlessly clean, amazing food and excellent facilities. The abundance of beautiful, fresh food was almost embarrassing - a real treat. We were upgraded to a junior suite as the hotel was fully booked so had a spacious room with a living area and a lovely sea view. The pools were all wonderful, the animation team was excellent and not too 'in your face' - my 7 year old and I played a lot of table tennis whenever there was a rain shower (sadly frequently during our 4 day stay!) The staff were all super-friendly and very amenable. . However, I would probably not go back to the Sandos Papagayo because a) the location - it is too far away from the airport - the taxi ride was nearly 50 Euros each way - a good 40 mins. And b) the beach in front of the hotel must be accessible from the hotel as I saw people on it but no idea how you got down to it from the hotel ... and it is black sand which makes it pretty unattractive. They have a free shuttle bus to and from the town nearby but we did not leave the hotel for 4 days as my daughter just wanted to go in the pool. Personally I would have liked to go for a walk nearby or wander around the town a little but due to the bad weather and the fact that you had to get a bus to go anywhere, we stayed put.

Hotel perfecto para vacaciones tranquilas

Posted Nov 23, 2014
Habitación amplia con vistas al mar. Alimentación variada. Se come bien.

Familienfreundliches Hotel

Posted Nov 3, 2014
Massenabfertigung - thats it. Zimmer sind in normalem Zustand. Der Meerblick ist toll und empfehlenswert.
