Okay hotel stuck in the past.Posted Aug 15, 2014
The hotel is clean, is close to the airport, and easy to find. It is right on the beach front and has two adult pools and one child's pool, tennis courts and well kept gardens but I wouldn't stay there again. Upon arrival we were not welcomed but told to fill in a form for our room and then leave the luggage for the staff to take. She didn't say where to leave them so we took them to our rooms. I'm sorry but I'm not just going to leave my luggage in the middle of the lobby. We were given key cards to our 'sea view'. Perhaps 20 years ago it was a sea view but today it's blocked by Palm trees and buildings. There was no information about anything and when we went down to ask about breakfast was rudely told it was on the back of the key card. It's a good job I have good eyesight and can read the tiny print. Also you have to pay to have the minibar switched on... And then extra for anything inside. Rooms were kept clean but cleaners would be in there as early as 8:30 ... I'd advise anyone to put their 'do not disturb' signs on the door. Breakfast had a good selection of food but again the staff were rude, unhelpful and just wanted you out so they could clear up. Even though they serve breakfast until 10:30, they start clearing away the food as early as 10. The pool was clean and regularly tested but the bar staff were rude. And reserve your sun bed at 8am with your towel if you want one. Overall it was okay but I would not go there again and it's not 4*

Pros: Not a lot
Location: Lots to do and a fantastic Island.
This is not a four star hotel!!! The staff are curt to the point of being rude, if 4* is getting toiletries from a paper sachet stood in a stained bath (this was after a room upgrade !!!) then paying for a safe to be activated then iv'e been staying in ten star hotels. The towels were thin, old and tattered. They give you less than a Travelodge in the UK not even a glass of water let alone a coffee. The beds were old and a double was two singles pushed together, THUS IS IS 2014!!!! this outdated hotel needs a big refurbishment throughout .

Food quality was poor, starters for lunch just salads first 3 days, fish variety and quality of cooking poor, additional charges on arrival for use of fridge in room and also charged for pool towels and safe in room, we already paid for room additional charges this day and age should be discontinued.(total e43)

waiter servicePosted Apr 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
We had a very comfortable stay. there were just 2 downsides. One was mosquitoes in the bedroom and the other was brusque wine waiters, that was until the last day and then we were their favourite guests.

Good location and pool. Attracts older generation. Everything very accessible . Inside could be refurbished and remove all the artificial flowers .

Enjoyable stay again in the San Antonio. We were provided with a room in the area requested. Reception staff efficient and pleasant, as were all staff we had any dealings with. Nightly entertainment was of a high standard. Perhaps a coffee/croissant could be made available in reception area for those whose flight departs before breakfast commences...but generally no quibbles at all. Would recommend.

Tired HotelPosted Jan 12, 2014
Pros: New years eve was good and the fireworks were spectacular. The position was very good.
Cons: The overall decor and entertainment. Attitude of some of the staff.
Location: Great that it was near the nightlife but also far enough away from the melee.
The hotel is in a good position and the facilities are good but it could be an excellent hotel. It looks really tired and needs a bit of a facelift. The pool areas are great and the restaurants are good but it's a bit like being in a time warp - back to the 70'/80's. Some of the staff we found quite harsh especially the waiters at dinner time, they seemed to pounce on you when you didn't want them too and had attitude when you didn't want to order a drink which I may add was very expensive for the calibre. The bedrooms need an uplift too, they are quite depressing. Bathroom ceilings need addressing and a lick of paint wouldn't go amiss. I also found the entertainment to be quite boring - the same duo singing the same songs every night.

Pros: Food was good, the staff were attentive
Cons: Their internet was pathetically slow
Location: It's near the end of the strip, bus stop out front can take you places. Not a lot to see in Lanzarote however. Great island for relaxing.
